One Piece x Monster Hunter: Convergence of Calamities

(Crossover Fanfiction: OnePiecexMonsterHunter) A strange event occurred around a year before the start of Monkey D. Luffy's journey, one that alerted the highest powers of the World. There was a powerful explosion of light in a certain part of the Grandline and while there was no physical damage, there were energy surges that piqued the interest of the World Government. According to Dr. Vegapunk, the explosion caused a serious effect that he believed would shake the balance of the world; the creation of Zoan-like Devil Fruits, ones that neither him nor anyone in the World could recognize. He would classify these fruits as [Legendary Beast Types] as the powers would allow the user to transform into a powerful unknown beast with paramecia-type powers. There were great strengths to these powers and unknown and untapped potential that would gain the attention of anyone who would learn about this, including certain Pirate Groups. These Devil Fruits would scatter into the world, constantly sought after by The World Government, The Underworld, and the Pirates. Shortly after Straw Hat Luffy gained notoriety, Samuel, a seemingly ordinary human from Loguetown, was captured by the Marines. This was something that he was confused by, knowing he was just an ordinary shopkeeper. They had claimed that Samuel was withholding a powerful asset that the Marines had been ordered to seize. Yet Samuel knew nothing of what had happened. It was then during that day that the events of Loguetown would happen and Samuel would be forced to be on the run.
