I raised an eyebrow at him. "To get rid of the cause of the problem... which is me."
The corner of his lips slightly lifted. "No. To ask you a favor."
"Favor?"
He nodded. "This was the first time that Zeanne had an episode that lasted this long. If she makes it through this, it will be a breakthrough. And we could only wish for the best. So, I was hoping that while she finds her way back… you could keep her safe."
'I think it's best that he doesn't find out that I nearly jumped off last night.'
I plastered a smile on my face. "Don't worry. I'll do my best to keep her safe."
"Thank you. I appreciate it." He folded his hands together on his lap and crossed his legs. "I'm curious. Can you please elaborate to me about that thing that you said about Zeanne's core imbalance?"
I was surprised by his request. "What use would you have for that knowledge? You won't be able to fix that for her even if you know about how it works. She's the only one who can help herself."
