The reason Guding's group harvested so smoothly was partly because they had Miko's barrier for protection and partly because the Sea Emperor provided them with a harvesting route. This avoided unnecessary battles and led them straight to their targets.
Others who entered wandered aimlessly. Many demigods couldn't even fly and stepped right into the marsh, sending themselves to their deaths.
