With that, Evelyn gave up arguing and unwillingly left for her first class for the day.
'๐๐ฉ๐บ ๐ฅ๐ฐ ๐ ๐ค๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ฐ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ค๐ฉ?' He walked to his class, a smile slowly spreading across his face as he thought about the other.
He entered the class and walked to his seat and found a few girls waiting for him near his desk. He rolled his eyes at them and placed his stuff down and stood in front of one of the girls who were blocking his way, he did nothing but just stared at her waiting for her to move away. But these girls seemed set on getting on his nerves.
"Can't take your eyes off me?" The one in front of him fluttered her lashes, making him look at her in disgust.
"You're in my way. Move," He said sternly.
"C'mon Carlo, you don't have to get mad. You know we can't take it when you look so handsome~" Another one of them approached him from behind and placed her hands over his shoulder and leaned closer.
"My name is Carlos." He hated it whenever someone calls him that. Well, guess we all know who's the only exception. "And get off me." He shook her off himself.
"Everyone knows that, but none of us get why you're fine with that Evelyn calling you that." The one in front of him took a step closer, "Lemme remind you, we all know she's taken and we all know that I'm not." One more word and Carlos would be done being patient with this girl.
"Well then, just so you all know, I don't have a boyfriend aymore." They heard a thud on the table beside them.
All of them turned towards where the voice came from and some flinched seeing Evelyn right beside them, shooting daggers at the girl in front of Carlos.
"Hey, what are you doing here? Don't you have a class to attend?" Asked Carlos, totally ignoring the scene Evelyn just made.
What got him more worried was the look in the Brunette's eyes, they were puffed, slightly red with wet marks down her cheeks. If anything, this boy was the first to notice every small detail in the other within a glance.
Evelyn gave a glance at the dark-haired boy and turned her gaze towards the other girls.
"Anything else you wanna know?" She tried hard not to throw a fist at them, "If not, then, you may leave. We have something to discuss."
"Of course we do." One of them took a step towards her "Why do you treat Carlos like your substitute? You keep dating guys every month- or in some cases, you change them after weeks. And you always hang out with Carlos being all clingy around him. Once you've been through another breakup, you come back to him again-"
"That's enough!" Carlos growled at the girl and grabbed Evelyn's hand, "You don't have to answer these rats." And with that, he dragged her out of the classroom.
"Seriously, what does he find in her?" One of the girls scoffed once they saw the two exit the classroom.

"Alright, stop." Evelyn freed her hand from the other's grip once they reached the other end of the corridor, Carlos still had his stern look on. "You made the right choice to drag me out of there."
"Yeah, or you would've made a scene."
"No, or you would've hit the girl without a second thought."
She was right. Carlos would've done that.
This boy might look sweet, but had a bad temper. He gets bored quickly, violent if you test his patience, easily hurt, really hard to convince, smart but might sound rude, doesn't talk much and the list goes on. But the thing is that no one but Evelyn or his dad knows all these. In short, you cannot understand him that easily.
Carlos rolled his eyes at the statement. She did know him too well. But he wasn't interested in talking about what happened earlier, instead, his mind wandered somewhere else. He decided to cut to the case.
"What did that blond-haired rascal do?" He asked, which made the latter lower her head, trying to avoid his eyes.
"We broke up."
"Why that son of a-" He started walking towards her class but was stopped by the other grabbing his arm.
"Don't."
"But he-"
"I said, don't! It's not like it's something that--" Her voice cracked, the tears she'd been holding back endlessly rolling down her cheeks. Carlos pulled her into a hug, not uttering a single word.
'๐ ๐จ๐ฆ๐ต ๐ช๐ต, ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ต ๐ธ๐ฉ๐บ ๐ข๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ?' He hated to see her like this.
"Do you want to go back home?" He asked, rubbing circles on the other's back.
She hummed as a response and they left school after a while. They were silent all the way back to Carlos' house. They entered and Carlos stopped by the kitchen and asked Evelyn to wait in the living room, he returned with a glass of water.
"Here." He gave her the glass of water, "Drink something, your throat must be dry."
She stared at him with puffed eyes and said nothing.
"What are looking at? Here, drink up."
"Am I ugly?" She blurted out.
"What are you talking about?"
"If I'm not ugly, then what is it that--"
"Look here, you need to calm down." He placed the glass of water down and turned to face her. "You're not ugly and you're the sweetest person I've ever met." He cupped her face in his palms.
"Then why do I always get dumped?!" She broke down in front of the latter.
"Hush now." He took her into his embrace. "None of those idiots deserve you. That's why."
"No, it's me. I don't deserve anybody." She kept ranting nonsense until,
"Who said that to you?" He broke the hug.
"I'm not telling you," She sniffled "you'll beat them up if I do."
And so, the whole day went by, Carlos took care of Evelyn the whole time until she fell asleep on his shoulder in the middle of a conversation. Carlos took her to his bedroom and quietly tucked her into bed and left a soft peck on her forehead. He slowly got up and turned to leave when he felt a tug on his sleeve.
"Love you, Carlo. You're the best..." She mumbled in her sleep which was loud and clear for the other.
"I love you too, idiot," He spoke as he caressed her cheek, knowing very well that she hasn't heard a word of what he just said.
He stood up and made his way to his Father's room to sleep there for the night.

"Where are you?!" Evelyn stormed inside the classroom looking for someone, he wasn't there.
"You're so dead once I find you." She exited the classroom, now looking for him all around the corridor, and spotted him near the boys' washroom talking to one of his friends.
"Lance! Why you son of a-" She stomped towards him, gaining his attention.
He turned towards her and let out a sigh accompanied by a small chuckle.
"Who pissed you off so early in the morning?"
"You! Who else?" She hissed, "Any proper excuse for not showing up yesterday?"
"Hey, I'm sorry, something came up and it was urgent."
"And what was it?" She kept questioning and the conversation eventually led somewhere else.
A dark-haired boy approached the couple.
"Am I interrupting? I can come by later if you guys need-"
"Not at all!" Lance walked to his side, placing his arm around his shoulder.
"Dude, help me out here, will ya? I'll treat you lunch today. I gotta run now." He quickly whispered to his ear before looking at Evelyn, "I'll let you besties talk in private, I'll get going then. See you, babe!" And with that, he dashed towards his classroom.
"Get back here!" Yelled the two, but he was already out of their sight.
"Hey, why'd you want him here? Don't you always nag about him being annoying?" Evelyn asked.
"Of course he's annoying. But he can't just leave me alone with you, you're more annoying!" He stated, only to be pulled by the ear almost instantly.
"Well let me repeat this, Carlos Anson. He might be my boyfriend of 2 years, and you can be jealous all you want but nothing can change the truth that I, the one and only Evelyn, will always be here in every moment of your life" She pulled his ear closer "to haunt and annoy you till your death!!"
"Ouch, my ears!" Carlos rubbed his ear that was free from the latter's grip who was now laughing at his reaction. "Is it bleeding?" He touched his ear and glance at his hand.
"I don't care, I'm gonna be late for class." She tried walking past him.
He grabbed her by the arm and turned her in the opposite direction. "Your first class is this way."
"Right."

"Hey, I think I heard something. What did you break this time?" Amelia entered and saw the younger on the floor, sniffling.
She understood the situation once she walked closer. She sat down beside her and clasped her in her arms.
"We'll find him. I promised you, remember?" She spoke, "But first, we need this mess cleared up. They need our help." The younger nodded in response.
Amelia stood up, "I'll be waiting outside."
After a while, Evelyn walked out of the door.
"Are you ready?"
"Yup." The brunette slipped on her shoes.
"Let's go get these men taken care of."
