"Come on, follow me," Old Niu led Jiang Changhai into his own courtyard.
"What's the good stuff? Bring it out for me to take a look," Old Niu urged eagerly, still very trusting of the other's judgement and intelligence.
Jiang Changhai set down his bundle, opened it, and pulled out a delicately crafted tin frog that looked strikingly realistic at first glance.
He twisted the winding key on the side of the frog and let it hop repeatedly in his hand.
"How about that? Brother, you've never seen anything like this, have you? Not even the Supply and Marketing Cooperative has this. It will sell like crazy. The kids won't be able to walk past without stopping. Am I right, brother?"
Old Niu's interest was immediately piqued.
He took the small toy from Jiang Changhai's hands and inspected it, discovering that although the frog appeared to be simply made of tin, it actually had a complex craftsmanship and was well-made.
He shook it, feeling its weight and knew it should be durable.
