"What's wrong?" He asked as he noticed her voice wasn't clear

"I'll make sure to come back by next week okay?"
"Okay"
"Alright, then we will Skype later".
Debbie opened her eyes wide up. "Did he say anything about it?" She said nervously
"No, he didn't, instead he extended the day he said he will come back,".
"Jeez"
"You know what that means right?, It means something is truly going on". she said regretfully "I'm such a...a fool" her voice was cracking.
"Emma, I don't know what to say I hate seeing you like this"
"I will be fine"
"No, you won't be, I know you, will you ask him about it then? "
"Never! We are done."
"Emma come on"
"No Debbie, do you want me to ask him and make a fool out of myself? Hell no, I am saving the last dignity that remains in my body."

He stood up to leave the restaurant but stopped when he heard Vivian.
"She's having an affair with a hotter dude"
Kieran looked around to see who Vivian was talking to, but notice nobody was paying attention to them.

Vivian handed her phone to Kieran and showed him the picture of Peter when he kissed Emma at the dance floor without her consent, but in the picture, it looks like a mutual kiss. He couldn't believe what his eyes were seeing.
"What the fuck is this? this isn't real, don't tell me you stooped so low to the extent of doing this, this is fake!"
"You think it isn't real, then swipe to the left, to see more pictures"
Vivian was enjoying every bit of what she was doing.
Kieran swiped to the left and he saw another picture of Emma and the same guy at the cinema together.
"No no, this can't be real" he was feeling dizzy as he kept seeing his girlfriend with the same guy over and over again.
"It is real baby, go on, there are still more pictures"

"Yeah, go on"
He swiped to the left again and saw a picture of Emma with the same dude at a restaurant, and Emma was laughing wholeheartedly, then he saw another one when he was cleaning her face.
He couldn't contain it inside anymore, he felt suffocated. He returned her phone to her furiously and left for his hotel.
"I can't believe all these, I just can't, I need to see her, she has to explain all these to me, yeah, I will go tomorrow" he booked a ticket online immediately after he got home. He needed to see Emma
"She has a lot of explanation to do," he said burning with anger
The following day, Peter called Emma but she didn't pick the calls he sent some messages to her, yet she ignored it. She just sat down in her sitting room thinking and crying.
"Why is she not picking my calls and she's not returning my messages as well" Peter was worried because he has been calling her for the past three days but she wasn't picking his calls or returning his text messages.
"Could she be ill? should I go to her house? Hell no! she won't like that, but why is she not active online since yesterday, perhaps she's sick" He turned around confused because of what was going on.
"I will go to her house, I have to" Peter got her address from Kate and he went to her house to see her.
Emma stood up to see who it was when her doorbell rang.
"What!, what the hell are you doing here" she screamed when she saw Peter standing by her doorstep with a worried look on his face.
Peter knew something was wrong immediately he saw her.
"I...I called you several times but you didn't pick, I know I shouldn't be here but I was worried sick when I didn't hear from you?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yes" she nodded
"No Emma, you don't look okay, what's wrong, have you been crying your eyes are teary and it's swollen.
"I'm f...fine" she stammered trying not to remember what she was going through presently, but as he kept asking her questions she couldn't help but start crying.
Peter was shocked and agitated to see Emma, the woman he has
fallen for crying in front of him, he moved closer to her doorstep,
"What's wrong baby?, talk to me" He held her hands gently and they went inside.
"What's going on Emma?
"Nothing" she sniffed and wiped her tears with the back of her palm.
"No, you can't tell me, nothing is going on, you must have been crying, look at your face, it's turning to red. Come on, open up to me" after much persistence she told him everything that happened between her and Kieran.
Peter at first was surprised that someone could hurt the beautiful soul in front of him, Of course, he knew she was dating someone, but he didn't know she had loved him to that extent, he knew she was hurt and he wished he could make the pain go away. Deep down he wished she could love him the way she loved Kieran, because he knew he is in love with her and seeing her like this, breaks her heart.
"It's okay Emma, it's his loss, if he loses someone like you, you shouldn't let yourself down because a guy let you down"
Emma looked up at his face and smiled as he tried to cheer her up
She felt better a little bit "Wow, you are really a great guy Peter" She said as she hugged him tightly. Peter was surprised by the gesture and happy, he moved closer to her and hugged before they were interrupted by an angry voice.
"What the hell is going on here?" Kieran screamed when he saw them hugging tightly.
Emma and Peter left each other abruptly because his voice was so loud and it was filled with anger.
"I said what the fuck is going on here?" Kieran was surprised beyond imagination, he came to see Emma for an explanation and he met her in a compromising position with the man he was told to be her lover. That hit him right hard in the face.
"I guess you are not different from the others huh? I really hope, it was worth it" he said and left furiously.
Emma was surprised to see him and was even more surprised to hear him say those words and she ran after him to hear a piece of her heart.
"Who the hell do you think you are? after what you did, you still show up at my house, you've got balls, huh, I don't wanna see you ever again, now get the fuck out of my house" she left him standing there, poleaxed no doubt about it.
Kieran was confused but he just entered his car and drove off without uttering a word, he doesn't understand what she said but he wasn't bothered, he had gotten the explanation he came to get.
When he reached home, he was lost in thought and he mistakenly hit his head on the wall since he was lost in thought.
"What the fuck?" He yelled kicking his sofa. His mind wandered around and he remembered when Vivian told him a week ago that she was pregnant for him, the news had hit him hard.
He couldn't deny it because he had sex with her even after they split up. He was high that night at a friend's party and Vivian was there, seducing him with everything she got. He couldn't justify his actions and doesn't know how to tell Emma that he impregnated his ex-girlfriend.
"Damn it! I shouldn't have fallen for her trap that night, she knew I was high, fuck!"
During the time he had sex with Vivian, he and Emma haven't started dating officially yet, at that time he was still trying to get her to be his girlfriend, but that doesn't justify my actions" he thought
sadly, then he recalled what he saw Emma doing with another guy.

Emma, I'm not impressed with your work these days" Mr. Joe complained, "you always make one mistake or the other, we almost lost a multi-million deal last week, if you are having a personal issue, resolve it and don't let it ruin your career"

Kate was eavesdropping on their conversation and was so happy
"God, let her make another big mistake, I can't wait to be the next Manager Director," She said happily hoping Emma's love life issue will affect her career as they've planned.
Vivian assured her that if Kieran and Emma broke up, she will be mentally down and will start losing focus but Kate was a little bit disappointed that she wasn't fired immediately after she almost made the company lose a huge amount of money.
"I'm sure that Mr. Joe must have defended her during the meeting the boards had yesterday". She bit her finger.

Debbie followed Emma home that day to talk to her because she knew what happened a day before at the office.
Emma brewed coffee for both of them to drink
"Babe why are you doing this to yourself this is not making sense at all, it's..."
"Debbie I..."
"Let me talk, I know what happened at the office yesterday, you could have lost your position or even worse get fired if not for Mr. Joe who defended you tirelessly.
"What? Oh my God, I..."
"Zip it, babe, you are not the first person to break up with someone, and you will definitely not be the last, life moves on, don't lose a man and lose your career too, that pain will be unbearable. Babe trust me and go back there, be the fearless lady that you once were, please"
Emma was moved by her best friends love and kindness to her
"I just don't know what I did to God that made him give me a friend like you Debbie, thank you so much" She moved closer to Debbie and hugged her as she cried.

Emma did as she was told, she came out of her shell and became stronger.
"Now this is the Director I'm talking about," Her boss said one day when she gave a brilliant speech at a meeting.
After the meeting ended, Emma went to meet him,
"Thank you so much sir, I'm grateful for everything," she said smiling
"Everyone makes mistakes dear, just learn from it and move on" he patted her shoulder and left for his office.
Things went back to normal except for Kieran who wasn't in the picture anymore. Emma still finds it hard to accept but she had to accept her fate.
Peter would always call her, chat with her, and make her feel happy. He even tried his luck and asked her to be his girlfriend.
"I'm sorry Peter, you are a great guy, you are and every girl will be happy to be with you not just me"
Peter was hurt but he didn't show it
"Take your time Emma, will wait until you are ready to give love a chance again"
"Don't wait, Peter, please don't" she declared
"I will trust me on that"
"Suit yourself, have a nice day"
"You are leaving?"
"Yeah"
"Oh, okay".
"Babe, hope you are preparing for tomorrow's wedding?"
Debbie asked Emma on the phone
"I am, come pick me up please, my car is faulty"
"Alright sweetie, see you tomorrow"
They got to the party and was enjoying it when Emma saw someone.
"What! what are you doing here?" Emma asked Peter Surprisingly when she saw him at the wedding party.
"Whoa, My friend is the groom"
"Wow, I wasn't expecting to see you here at all".
"Damn, you look so beautiful, like a newly made chocolate" Peter admired her beauty and dress sense.
Emma rolled her eyes "Here you go again"
"Debbie joined them
"Hi Peter"
"Hello Debbie"
"Never knew you would be here"
"Wait what, do I look like someone who hates weddings?

"Never mind, I was just joking, my friend is the groom"

Peter excused them and came back after some minutes.
"Can I have a dance with this elegant queen?" Peter asked
"Sorry no, I'm not in the mood, I..." Just then Emma saw Kieran and Vivian at the party looking at her
"Debbie we've got to leave now!"
"What! why?" Debbie looked around and saw Kieran and a lady sitting together and staring at Emma.
"Oh shit" no way, go dance with that mind-blowing man, let Kieran feel some pain," Debbie said trying to get back at Kieran.
"What? no way in hell"

"Debbie no let us go please"
"We will go after you finished dancing with Peter, else we are going nowhere"
