At the forest pathway, the First Prince is still stuck in the firce battle with the bandits.
"Protect the carriage!" First prince shouts and pierced his sword in a bandit chest.
The bandit chief spotted the First Prince and stopped fighting.
"Retreat!" He shouted and looked at First Prince with narrowed eyes.
First Prince stared at him till he was out of sight.
"The bandit have been defeated. Let's prepare to continue our journey." First Prince said to General Wang and got on his horse.
"Prepare to set off" General Wang informed the soldiers. Arranging things that were destroyed.
At The Second Prince pavilion, Second Prince paces back and forth, thinking of ways to stop Xiao Ai's wedding.
"Should I tell Chao Xiang that Meihui has an incurable disease?"
"Pooff!" Huan spits out the water he's been drinking in shock after hearing what Second Prince suggested.
"Why do you want to stop her wedding? Even if you wanted to, why will you say something like that about her? " Huan asked in surprise.
"How about saying... She has a short lifespan?" Second Prince suggested. While biting his nails, pacing back and forth.
Huan places his hand on his face in dissapointment and stands up.
"Your Highness, let's assume you successfully stop the wedding, what do u want her to do afterwards? And how are you sure Chao Xiang isn't her dream man. What if she's happy with the wedding?" Huan asked while stretching his hands forward.
Second Prince sits and takes a deep breath.
" You're right about that. I won't know unless I ask her. I have to ask her." Second Prince replied and hurriedly heads to the door.
"Where are you going?"
"I want to go ask her. Don't follow me." Second Prince shouts as he leaves.
"But it's night time already." Huan mutters and heaves a sigh.
The First Prince arrives at the frontier fortress by night time. He's welcomed by General Commander Luo.
"Greetings Crown Prince. It is an honor to have you at our fortress." General Commander Luo bowed to First Prince.
" It's okay General Commander Luo." First Prince replied with a smile and they walked into the fortress.
"General Wang, send a message to the Palace that we've arrived and delivered the supply successfully." First Prince commanded.
"Yes, Your Highness." General Wang obeyed with a bow and leaves.
First Prince is met with a banquet. He takes a seat and all the commanders make a toast to him.
"We welcome our honourable crown prince in our midst" The commanders chorused.
"Your Highness, pls don't be offended that it's a small celebration." General Commander Luo pleaded with a smile.
" Not at all. I wasn't even expecting this. I appreciate it. " First Prince replied and drank a cup of wine.
At the Jiang's residence, Xiao AI sat outside the court yard staring at the moon in the sky. While deep in thought, she noticed rustles in the plantation beside the residence.
"Who's that? Come out!" She commands in a stern tone while taking silent steps towards where the noise came from.
Suddenly a hand grabs her hand and quickly hugs her from behind. She hits the person's hand with her elbow, turns around, pinned the intruder to the short fence and swiftly takes her dagger from her pocket. She was about stabbing the intruder when she saw it was Qianfan.
" You.." She said, with shock.
" What are you doing here? And how do you know this place?" Xiao AI asked with widened eyes. She returned Second Prince's gaze and finds out he was staring at her female wear with a smile.
Immediately, she realized her appearance was that of a lady. She became startled, releasing Second Prince from her grip and dropping the dagger. She covers her mouth after realizing she didn't use her fake moustache and looks down in embarrassment.
"Who's there?" Lord Jiang shouted from afar, seeing blurry image of Xiao AI and Second Prince by the fence.
Xiao AI and Second Prince stares in his direction in shock and runs in different direction due to panic.
"Follow me. Where are you going?" Xiao AI softly asked and holds Second Prince's hand. Running in the direction to her room.
" How will I know where I'm going? This is not my house." Second Prince replied with a smile.
Lord Jiang hurriedly goes to the spot where Xiao AI and Second Prince left from and sees her dagger. And leaves for her room to ensure her safety.
Xiao AI and Second Prince arrived at her room. She quickly closed the door.
" Since you know this is not your house, what are you doing here?" Xiao AI asked while panting.
"To ask a question." Second Prince replied while putting off the candle light in the room. Leaving only a candle to keep burning.
"What are you doing?" Xiao AI asked, watching the Second Prince as he puts off the candle light.
He walked closely to her and whispers
"What if your dad came to check on you and sees us both?"
"Meihui, Are you alright? There's an intruder in the house." Lord Jiang said as he arrived at her doorstep.
Xiao AI and Second Prince looks at each other in shock. Second Prince grabs her by her hand and puts her to lie down on the bed.
" What are you doing?" Xiao AI exclaimed in shock, forgetting that Lord Jiang is at her doorstep.
Second Prince quickly lie on top of her, placing his hand on her mouth to stop talking and covers them both with her bedsheet.
"Meihui, are you okay? I'm entering the room." Lord Jiang said in concern and opens the door.
Second Prince removes his hand on her mouth, allowing her to speak.
" I'm fine. I'm sleeping." Xiao AI replied in a dozing off voice.
"Alright." Lord Jiang said, still parading the room. Second Prince and Xiao AI stare at each other passionately.
Xiao AI starts breathing heavily and gulps down a spit in nervousness. Lord Jiang leaves the room and closes the door behind him.
Second Prince looks at Xiao AI with love and affection and whispers,
" Do you wish to marry him?"
"Uh?" Xiao AI looks at Second Prince and asks in surprise.
" I said do you wish to marry him? Chen Chao Xiang. Do you want to marry him?" Second Prince said while looking deep into her eyes as if searching for answers.
"No." Xiao AI softly replied.
"Do you like him? Second Prince asked again looking for assurance.
"No! I do not like him." Xiao AI replied, almost immediately he asked. After her reply, she looks away in shyness.
Second Prince let's out a sweet and affectionate smile. He leans closer to her and gives her a kiss on the cheek.Xiao AI's eyes widened in shock.
"Don't worry. Wait for me." Second Prince whispered to her ear in a gentle, affectionate, and assuring tone.
He gets up from the bed and leaves through the window. Xiao Ai was still on the spot she was in astonishment.
"What just happened? What does he mean? Why wasn't he surprised to see me as a lady? Does he have feelings for me?" These questions kept running in Xiao Ai's mind.
After a while, Second Prince arrived back at the palace all smiles, humming a song. Huan saw him and frowned his eyebrows in curiousity.
" Why do you seem so happy? What happened at Meihui's place?" He asked and took a sit. Second Prince also sat down and kept smiling ear to ear.
" I've found out everything. She doesn't like Chao Xiang. She didn't even want to get married to him." Second Prince replied in happiness.
"Really? Even if that is the case, how do you plan to stop her wedding? And....." Huan stared at Second Prince from head to toe.
" Are you okay? Hope you're fine?" Huan asked with a concerned look.
" Of course. I'm perfectly okay. I've never been more okay." Second Prince replied, looking at Huan and let out a laugh. He stood up and goes to meet Huan where he sat.
"This is the feeling of love. You can't understand." Second Prince mocked while pointing at him.
"As for how I'll stop the wedding, Meihui has asked something of me for the first time. I won't dissapoint her." He added and laughed as he walked to his sleeping chamber. While Huan stares at him in confusion.
