Alin's pupils dilated rapidly; she focused intently on the darkness in the distance as fear washed over her like a tide, making even the slightest movement seem daunting.
A chill entered her lungs, and suddenly, Alin felt someone tugging at her clothes. She thought it was Li Huang, but when she turned around, she found a pale arm clutching her wrist, seemingly trying to separate her from Li Huang.
Following the direction of the arm, she saw a six or seven-year-old child, its facial features hollowed out, crouching on the steps and looking up at her.
