Inside the hotel private room.
Caroline Edwin and others sat with the director at a table, surrounded by tastefully elegant decor that embraced a classic ancient Chinese style, complete with a screen embroidered with a landscape painting providing separation.
The dishes were brought to the table by the waitstaff, and once everything was laid out, Director Philemon poured a glass of liquor and stood up, "This glass of liquor is a toast to Caroline. Not only are you the leading lady, but also an extremely important investor. I am very grateful that you saw potential in the script and invested a significant amount of money."
After finishing his speech, Director Philemon patted his chest, gallantly raised his glass, and downed it in one gulp. The strong liquor burned his throat fiercely as it went down.
Caroline Edwin caught a whiff of the liquor and felt a bit of discomfort but didn't force herself to drink.
