A day has passed since the audience with the king and everyone else. The situation was handled by Apollo and Fay. I got an earful from Fay for doing something like that. She got really mad at for summoning Apollo out of nowhere.
I managed to placate her but she isn't too convinced that I won't do the same thing again. So, here I am.
We are at the academy, right outside professor Sierra's office. I have Fay and Levi with me.
I asked Levi last night to make an appointment on my behalf. I wanted to write a letter to ask for an appointment but I don't know her address.
Asking Levi would be the best way possible.
"Master, it has been a while since we met." (Levi)
"Yeah. It feels like an eternity has passed. You have grown a bit. You aren't so skinny anymore. That's better. I am glad that general Louis and Trevor were a good influence."
He has grown significantly in these few days. A bit of perseverance can go a long way.
He knocks on the door and we are told to enter. When entering the room I saw the same room. Nothing has changed. Even professor Sierra looks the same.
Wait…it only has been about a couple of months since our last meeting. Why am I feeling like it has been ages?
I snap back to reality and greet her. After taking our seats we begin.
"I heard that you were on a journey, Mr. Belmont. How was it?" (Sierra)
"It was arduous. I am a person who can shrug things off pretty easily. But this journey almost killed me. It was just that difficult."
"I see. It seems that even someone as strong as you can be pushed to the limits." (Sierra)
"I am the strongest being. I am fairly strong but I am nowhere near the pinnacle of strength. Professor, I am here today to discuss the exhibition that this kingdom will be hosting."
She thinks for a moment and probably remembers it.
"I did hear about it. But if you want to discuss about that, you came to see the wrong person. I am not involved in any administrative work. That would be the principal." (Sierra)
"I just wanted your honest opinion. The event is still a work in progress. I just suggested it haphazardly without putting much thought into it. Somehow it reached this state."
I ask Fay to better express the details. I am not good with those detailed talks. Professor gasped a few times before finally calming down.
It more felt like she had given up. Levi had the same reactions.
"And so, that's how it turned out to be. What do you think, professor?"
"I am still overwhelmed by the amount of outrageous and impossible things she just said. This exhibition would be a pretty big deal. It might even spark a new conflict." (Sierra)
I know. But that's what I am trying to do. As the harbinger of death, chaos and destruction, I have a duty to spread those throughout this system.
"I know that. That is exactly why I am testing the limits of the humans, the demons and the gods. Whether they are worthy of gaining new knowledge or not."
She looks confused but doesn't ask any further.
"Mr. Belmont, would you like to attend another lecture today?" (Sierra)
"Why not? I am quite free these days. Maybe attending a lecture could be fun."
I have been meaning to mingle more with the students to get a better understanding of their thoughts.
Fay sighs and Levi gulps. Is it that bad of an idea?
"We are having a practical lecture today. Then, follow me." (Sierra)
She leads us to a dome. This is where I previously gave a little demonstration. The dome is still in one piece thanks to Aegis's barrier.
The students are already here. When they saw me, many faces turned blank. A few showed annoyance and one particular face was pretty disdainful.
That guy, he is the same guy who made a fuss about us attending the lecture the first time. I think his name is Billings or something similar.
"Class, today we have Mr. Belmont with us again. Hope you treat him and his companions well." (Sierra)
I noticed a few surprised faces when they looked at Levi. His change is pretty apparent. He certainly has the shock value. Reactions towards Fay is the same.
They don't particularly show any animosity towards her. She is nonetheless a princess. They can't make any hasty moves.
"Today we will be studying elemental magic. We already have determined our innate elements. We will be practicing them today." (Sierra)
Elemental magic? Hmm…I always use
"Fay, is elemental magic restricted to our innate elements?"
"For the most case. You can still use other elements. It just won't be as strong as your own elements. You can possess multiple elements. I have only fire element. I could only use fire. Besides, didn't we have this conversation before?" (Fay)
"Maybe. That was almost three years ago. I forgot. I never found out what my element was. Should I try it?"
I think the adventurer's guild registration was required it but I was always using
"Professor, I would like determine my own element. Is there a way?"
I ask professor. She looks at me, surprised. Yet she didn't say anything and went back to the green room and came back with a crystal ball.
"Place your dominant hand on this orb. It should show your element." (Sierra)
I seal away all my
"You sealed away your
I place my right hand on it. Last time, the orb shattered into pieces while glowing white. This time, it's glowing. But it's a murky yellow color.
"Earth element. Mr. Belmont, you can use Earth element." (Sierra)
Her tone has hints of both surprise and relief at the same time.
"Earth. That fits me. Hmm…maybe I should practice a bit."
I was wondering what to do when came flying a hand glove. It fell before me and I look at the person who threw it.
That Billings guy threw it. Everyone gasped in horror. First time I heard anything like that. Even professor is flabbergasted.
"I challenge you, uncouth commoner, to a duel. Stand proud that I, Earnest Billings will personally discipline you." (Earnest)
I look at Fay. She is saying, "Don't kill him and don't destroy this place," with her eyes.
I think back when I first met Fay and try to set my mana to that limit. It can be wrong but I will hold back. I pick up the glove and accept it.
Professor is holding her head but she evacuated the students. The duel would begin 30 minutes from now. Let's prepare.
