As so it began, Teras's journey to learn mana and in turn more about his past had come to a start, all he had to do was knock at Tokkou's mansion, a mansion that stood out in this town filled with rock-built houses
The mansion was big and built with marble and high-quality material in general, Teras stood in front of the big dark-wood door and knocked after he asked multiple people for guidance
Some time had passed from the last time he saw Tokkou so he assumed he would be in the house, he went there and knocked at the door
BANG BANG
The massive door started to slowly open and to his surprise, a rather short maid opened the door, the maid had red hair, green eyes, and glasses
"Hello! My name is Becka, one of the Grand Jack's maids, how can I assist you?" She asked with a smile
"Uhm... Tokkou said to come to find him here, he said something about a trial" Teras explained
Becka looked at him like he was crazy
"I'm telling the truth"
"I'm afraid he is asleep..." Becka said as she began to slowly close the door
"COME ON! Just let him see me, he knows me!" Teras said while grabbing the door from shutting
"Please let go of the door before you lose an arm" Becka said with a sweet smile while staring at Teras with the devil's eyes
Teras quickly let go of the door, he watched the door close shut
'Great now he will think I'm ignoring him again...' Teras thought as he sighed
He then sat in front of the door and waited, and waited, and waited until the door opened
It was Becka holding a big watering can, Becka was disturbed to see Teras still sitting out of the house
"What's wrong with you? Go home kid, Tokkou doesn't have time for kids like you!" She said as she angrily watered the plants
"Let him see me, and if you can't do that then mention my name to him, tell him "Teras is waiting outside" and see how he will react" Teras said as he got up from the frustration
Becka stared at Teras while she was watering the flowers and gave up
"I will let you in to see him, if you are lying I swear you will be in great trouble"
Teras excited remained quiet for Becka to finish her job and when she was they both entered the great doors of the mansion, inside the mansion was also as incredible as it seemed from the outside, there were also many more maids that either cleaned or stayed stationary due to having nothing to do
One common thing was that they all looked surprised to see Teras
"Wait here, if you take a single step away I will kill you" Becka said with her casual aggressive tone while walking into the garden of the mansion
Teras looked around the mansion while he waited in the same spot, he didn't dare to move his legs or arms
After a short while Becka returned
"Please follow me to the garden, we were expecting you!" Becka said with a sweet smile
"Are you serious?" Teras said annoyed as he followed Becka to the backyard, where Tokkou was sipping his tea in peace
"You didn't ignore me this time, huh?" Tokkou said sarcastically as he smiled
"Yeah, yeah, save the jokes for later, excuse but what's wrong with your maids, I was left outside like a stray..." Teras said annoyed as he pointed at Becka
Becka just stood there looking innocent while Tokkou stared at he confused
"Anyway, let's start by doing a little demonstration" Tokkou said as he quickly got up and stretched
"What do you mean by that?" Teras asked confused
"What else? Let's spar" Tokkou said with a smile as he got deeper into the garden
Well garden is an understatement, calling it a forest would better suit this place
"I don't know about that... You beat up the three guys very easily back there" Teras said discouraged
Tokkou laughed "Calm down! I won't go too hard on you, but you can go all out, after all, you are facing the Grand Jack" Tokkou said with a prideful smile
"You are a big figure I assume?" Teras asked
"You could say that, now more action, less talking" Tokkou said as he got into a fighting stance
Teras closed his fists and charged at Tokkou, suddenly he stopped and then pushed back, resulting in him falling down
"Hey that's the wrong direction, I'm right here" Tokkou said with a smile
'That must be the telekinesis he mentioned before' Teras thought as he tried to get up, the injury on his sides made it rather hard
Teras decided to try to ambush Tokkou by grabbing a rock without Tokkou noticing and then threw the rock at Tokkou while charging at him from the right
Both the rock and Teras were frozen in place
"We are not going anywhere like this... You are far too strong to toy with me, don't you think?" Teras asked as he remained frozen in place
Tokkou chuckled before freeing Teras and the rock
"I suck at this... All my "students" had some experience before training them, so I don't know how to train someone like you, who is completely new" Tokkou said in a bothersome tone
"Now that you mentioned it Clair said something about working under you..." Teras said as he recalled the conversation he had with her in the underground prison
Tokkou showed surprise when he heard that from Teras
"Her? I guess you must have talked to her when you found us in the prison. The truth is she worked for me but due to uncommunicated problems, she turned against the Royal Capital! Most kings told me to kill her but I prefer not to do that if I don't have to" Tokkou said as he drove his glance away from Teras
"Were the problems the inhuman revolution"
After saying that Teras could feel Tokkou glare at him
"Did she tell you I killed all the people there?" Tokkou asked ominously
"She did" Teras replied anxiously
Tokkou looked annoyed but happy that Teras didn't believe her, that's what he assumed since Teras came to find him even after learning that
"So instead of learning mana right now, I can teach you the following" Tokkou said as he once again got into a fighter's position
He then threw a jab at Teras which he missed, or rather didn't land because Teras dodged it
"Hey slow down" Teras said as he dodged the multiple jabs Tokkou threw at him
Tokkou then closed on Teras and threw a kick which Teras was able to dodge by jumping over it by also using his hand as a means to launch himself on air
Suddenly Tokkou disappeared from sight, in a blink of an eye Tokkou was floating behind Teras, Tokkou then threw a kick at Tera which missed again. Teras managed to move his body on air in a position where he could have easily kicked Tokkou
He did, but Tokkou was able to deflect the kick making Teras land face-first on the ground while he made it unharmed
'Does he seriously not know how to fight?' Tokkou questioned what Teras told him
"By the look in your eyes I can tell you are used to being in a fight, you just have to find your footing" Tokkou said as he started to walk away
"Where are you going?" Teras asked confused
Tokkou turned around with a perplexed look on his face "I'm the Grand Jack, do you think I have time to teach you all that crap? Here, train with my most trusted maid, Becka here is a natural, she also has taken a liking to you so you will be just fine in her hands" Tokkou said as he laughed at Becka's face
"Master Tokkou, what is this nonsense? Do you really want me to train this random kid?" Becka complained, it was nothing like an interaction a normal maid would have with her master, Tokkou and her seemed more familiar
"Come on! Don't give him the cold shoulder, you saw him how he moved, plus the way he evaded those punches proves that he will not be so hard to get trained, just spar with him for a bit for today. You can start mana training later!" Tokkou said as he seemed a bit more reserved while talking to Becka
Becka sighed as she stared at Teras "Come on brat, I guess I will beat you up for a bit" She said as she walked deeper into the garden
"See, she likes you!" Tokkou said as he winked at Teras, he then flew away
Teras simply followed after Becka who simply stopped walking
"I don't know what Tokkou saw in you, but I'm sure he is just doing a favor to a delusional kid like he always does..." Becka said with a mad expression on her face
"Excuse-" Before Teras could finish his question he was hit in the stomach by Becka's punch
Teras was quickly launched behind rolling on the ground
'Everything is rotating...' Teras thought as he struggled to get up
"Come on kid, you dodged all of Tokkou's punches like they were nothing, don't tell me you couldn't see this punch" Becka said as she stretched her arms
Teras quickly got into a fighting position but that didn't help him, Becka closed in and landed a quick combo of punches on Teras's face before sending him back with a magical attack, the ground next to Becka rose and stuck Teras's torso in such speed he couldn't react
But after all that Becka felt bad and stopped, the fact that she heard a loud cracking sound also was the reason she stopped, she approached Teras intending to heal him but she was caught by surprise by Teras's moves
Teras used his arms to lift his body and then with an incredible move tried to kick Becka but missed, falling to the ground and further hurting himself, he spat some blood when he landed
"What the hell was that?" Teras said as he coughed all the blood out of his mouth
'He is regular... What does Tokkou see in him?' Becka wondered as he saw the struggling Teras
She understood a part of what her master was feeling when he saw Teras slowly get up even though he had broken several ribs
"Your power, it was cool as hell, I want to learn how to do that..." Teras said with a smile
"Cool?" Becka mumbled as she recalled all the things people called her for being able to use such power
Teras was one of the few people who complimented her power
Becka then got close to Teras and healed his injuries with the same green light Tokkou used to heal Teras in the forest
"This... At least teach me how to do that!" Teras said as he grabbed Becka's hand when she finished healing him
She quickly broke free of Teras's grip "I will... But for starters relax for a bit, even though I healed you your injuries need some time to fully be healed, so how about you go for a walk in the town?" Becka suggested to Teras
"And do what?"
It was a negative response from Teras, Becka puffed at him
"I said something, Tokkou assigned me as your teacher so I know what's best for you... Plus we are almost out of eggs so why don't you do a little favor to your beloved teacher?" Becka said with puppy eyes
"Don't give me that crap, you beat me up because I spent some time with your boyfriend" Teras said teasingly
"W-W-What are you saying? Are you talking about Master? He isn't my boyfriend, he is simply more familiar with me than any other, it doesn't go further than that!" Becka said anxiously
The intense response to what Teras said sparked an idea for Teras
"Oh, my mistake, Tokkou told me about how the prettiest maid he has would train me so I assumed you were together" Teras said with a stupid smirk that was quickly wiped off Teras's face from Becka's punch
"You are dragging it kid, now go buy eggs before I break your eggs" She said as she gave Teras some coins to buy 20 eggs
Enough for a week or more
Teras took the money and once again wandered the city to find what he was tasked, first he tried to search for a place that sold eggs by himself but due to him taking a lot of time he asked people that also walked around the town
"Eggs? Mr. Karten had a lot of eggs, you will probably find 20 eggs there"
Teras thanked the civilian and made a run for it, but before he could go at full speed at the store a sudden glow from an alleyway distracted him, it was a white bunny with a horn
"What are you doing here all alone my friend?" Teras asked the bunny as he tried to pet it
The bunny got scared and ran away leaving Teras heartbroken
Teras swiftly bought the egg and was on his way to the mansion since the sun also had started to set, but that bunny still was on his mind so when he passed the same road he first saw it he followed the alleyway it followed
While walking on this rather dark road he heard something horrible
"Hey, why don't we cut its front legs and watch it hop like a frog?" A man asked
Tera also heard squealing noises so he approached them to see what was happening, surprisingly he saw two men abusing a bunny, one tall and one buff, the same bunny he had seen earlier
"Hey, what the hell are you doing to that bunny?" Teras yelled
The two men turned around to see Teras glaring at them
"What do you want kid? We are just having fun!" One of the men said
"Torturing a bunny is fun for you? Then do you want to have fun together?" Teras said as he closed his fists
The men felt a certain amount of pressure coming from Teras
"Let's bounce! Is not worth fighting over a stupid bunny!" The man said
Everyone then started walking away, they walked past Teras but it seemed that their intention wasn't peaceful after all, the stronger-looking guy tried to kill Teras by cutting his head into two with a vertical attack
Teras simply stepped to the right dodging the attack and with the speed of his rotation he hook-kicked the man bringing him to the ground and slamming him on the ground with his leg
"H-How did he do that?" The tall guy asked with a scared impression
"Take him and leave..." Teras said
He was more shocked than they were but he tried to hide it by turning away from them
He quickly carried his friend and left
Teras quickly went to check on the bunny
'Shit! It has too many scars on it! Becka! She will be able to save it' Teras thought as he picked the bunny
He then ran as fast as he could to the mansion
He knocked on the door and a maid opened up after seeing it was Teras on the door
Teras was a red-eyed kid, and unless they are demons red eyes are very rare in this world so they remembered him, but the maid opening the door was confused about the bunny
Teras gave her the eggs and quickly ran to the backyard with the bunny in his hands, as expected he saw Becka waiting for him in the backyard
"Took you long, enough!" Becka said as she tapped her shoe
"Becka please heal it!" Teras yelled
Becka saw the bunny and knew what to do
"Put it down kid and watch how it is done!"
Becka said as she emitted the warm green healing light once again
