-Jerusalem, Sataf Forest
Several miles outside the city of Jerusalem, in a rural area covered by a large forest covering several hundred hectares. The forest was made up mainly of cypress and pine trees which were native to the area. This area was known in Arabic and Hebrew as Sataf.
Two notable small rivers: Ein Sataf and Ein Bikura watered the area which facilitated the lush forest and other small vegetation. The forest was also home to wildlife, both carnivorous and herbivorous.
