With the First Hokage personally vouching for Uchiha Madara, Namikaze Minato had no choice but to reconsider his assumption—Madara may not have been the one behind the Nine-Tails Rebellion after all.
Senju Tobirama: "Uchiha Madara did die at the Valley of the End. I'm certain of that."
Uchiha Madara : "Oh? And why are you so sure? Because you took my corpse for 'research' after my death?"
Senju Hashirama : "Tobirama! Did you really experiment on Madara's body?!"
Senju Tobirama : "Relax. I may not have liked him, but I didn't dissect his corpse. I only sealed it and hid it where no one could find it."
Tobirama wasn't lying—he had never conducted research on Madara's body. If he had, he would've realized the truth: the corpse was merely a doppelgänger. Madara had never truly died.
Namikaze Minato: "I see! Second Hokage-sama, you were worried that someone might use Madara's corpse for their own schemes. After all, a ninja's body holds valuable information."
Madara sneered at Minato's words. Someone else using my corpse? What a joke.
Uchiha Madara : "Tobirama, you always act 'smart' at the wrong times and clueless when it actually matters. You're ruthless when dealing with enemy villages, but when it came to my 'corpse,' you hesitated. If only you had shown your usual decisiveness, Konoha wouldn't have suffered so many disasters!"
Senju Tobirama: "Fourth Hokage, why did you assume Madara was responsible for the Nine-Tails attack?"
Namikaze Minato: "Only Uchiha Madara had the Mangekyō Sharingan, the ability to sneak into Konoha unnoticed, and the power to control the Nine-Tails."
Senju Tobirama: "Did you actually see his face?"
Namikaze Minato: "No… he was wearing a mask."
Senju Hashirama : "Then it wasn't Madara. Madara has never been one to hide himself."
Namikaze Minato: "Really? But that person had space-time abilities—something that seemed to be linked to his Mangekyō Sharingan."
Senju Hashirama: "Space-time abilities? Madara never had that power."
Madara smirked to himself. Just as he expected—the true mastermind was his pawn, the one carrying out his will in the shadows.
Uchiha Obito.
Senju Tobirama: "It's true that the Sharingan can control tailed beasts, but not just anyone with a Sharingan can do it. The amount of pupil power needed to control the Nine-Tails is immense—even a Three-Tomoe Sharingan wouldn't be enough."
Uchiha Madara: "Looks like another Uchiha genius has awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and decided Konoha is rotten to the core."
Uchiha Shisui: "Second Hokage, Madara-sama… you might not believe this, but during the Nine-Tails Rebellion, the pattern in the fox's eyes wasn't Mangekyō—it was just Three Tomoe Sharingan."
Senju Tobirama: "Nani?! Impossible! The Three-Tomoe Sharingan doesn't have enough power to control the Nine-Tails! It struggles to control even One-Tail, let alone the strongest of all tailed beasts!"
Madara chuckled to himself. Of course, a regular Three-Tomoe Sharingan couldn't control the Nine-Tails.
But Obito's Sharingan wasn't just a Three-Tomoe—it was Mangekyō.
With the power of Hashirama's cells, Obito had managed to use his Mangekyō without even displaying the full pattern. The cells removed the usual limitations and strain of excessive pupil power output.
Uchiha Shisui: "Many villagers saw the Three-Tomoe pattern in the Nine-Tails' eyes. And on top of that, the Konoha leadership ordered the Uchiha Clan not to fight. This led to even more resentment from the people toward the Uchiha."
Namikaze Minato: "Wait… during the Nine-Tails Rebellion, the Uchiha didn't fight?"
Uchiha Shisui: "Our clan leader wanted to lead us into battle to subdue the Nine-Tails. But Konoha's higher-ups forbade us from getting involved. They left us to 'protect the civilians.'"
Uchiha Madara: "Ah, yes. The classic 'divide and conquer' strategy. Gotta love how they made sure to separate the Uchiha from the rest of Konoha."
Uchiha Shisui: "The leadership was… suspicious. They feared that the Uchiha had orchestrated the Nine-Tails attack. If we were allowed near the beast, we might turn it against Konoha instead of helping."
Whitebeard: "Gurararara! What a pain! Your world is so exhausting. All this scheming and backstabbing—how do you people even live like this?"
Doflamingo: "Fufufufu~ Whitebeard, you don't get it, do you? For some people, playing these kinds of games isn't exhausting—it's the most fun they can have."
Gold Thief Woonan: "At the end of the day, it all boils down to one thing—trust."
Lucas: "No, this isn't just about trust. The Uchiha Clan's situation is very similar to the Senju Clan's."
Uchiha Shisui: "No way! The Uchiha Clan doesn't have the power or prestige the Senju Clan once had."
Lucas: "On the surface, yeah, the Uchiha didn't seem as big of a threat. But after the Nine-Tails incident, Konoha's higher-ups realized something—you guys have the ability to control the Nine-Tails. And if the Uchiha ever took control of it, they'd be just as dangerous as the Senju were back in the day."
Namikaze Minato: "The fact that the Uchiha can control the Nine-Tails wasn't exactly a secret among Konoha's leadership. Why do you say they only realized it after the attack?"
Lucas: "Because it's not the same. Before the Nine-Tails Rebellion, Konoha's leadership—like Tobirama—believed that only the Mangekyō Sharingan could control the Nine-Tails. As long as no one in the Uchiha had awakened it, they weren't a threat."
Lucas: "But after the attack, they saw the Three-Tomoe Sharingan reflected in the Nine-Tails' eyes. That meant even a regular Sharingan could control the beast. And just how many Uchiha had Three-Tomoe Sharingan? Enough to be considered a massive threat."
Doflamingo: "Fufufufu~ So to eliminate the threat, the best option would be to wipe out every Uchiha with a Three-Tomoe Sharingan. And the safest way? Exterminate the Uchiha Clan."
Uchiha Shisui: "How could it come to this…?"
Doflamingo: "Fufufufu~ Surprised? This isn't shocking at all. The higher-ups in your world act just like the World Government in mine. Anyone with potential to become a threat? Eliminated before they can act."
Whitebeard: "Gurarararara! A Buster Call, huh?"
Doflamingo: "Exactly. Even across different worlds, the thinking of those in power is identical. The Senju Clan, the Uchiha Clan, and even Ohara—if something threatens the status quo, it gets erased."
Gold Thief Woonan: "So in the end, the Uchiha were doomed…"
Uchiha Madara: "Of course they were! The Mangekyō Sharingan is rare, sure, but the Three-Tomoe Sharingan isn't. Any slightly talented Uchiha can awaken it under the right conditions."
Uchiha Shisui : "How did it come to this…?"
Namikaze Minato: "But Naruto has my Eight Trigrams Seal! Even if the Uchiha had Three-Tomoe Sharingan, they shouldn't be able to control the Nine-Tails."
Uchiha Madara : "If seals were foolproof, would the Nine-Tails attack have even happened? Fourth Hokage, seals can be broken."
Uchiha Shisui : "That's why the group leader said Uchiha Itachi was doomed to fail my expectations… because reconciliation was impossible. The higher-ups of Konoha would never tolerate the Uchiha Clan."
Lucas: "Exactly. The Uchiha Clan was a ticking time bomb for Konoha. And the Uchiha themselves? They were done with being treated like outcasts."
Namikaze Minato: "That makes sense. Even when I first became Hokage, I spoke with the Uchiha Clan's leader, and there were already whispers of rebellion back then."
Uchiha Madara : "And whose fault was that? Tobirama's. Ever since he took power, the Uchiha were systematically suppressed. And then there was his brilliant idea to establish the 'Konoha Military Police Force'—a move that alienated the Uchiha from the rest of the village!"
Senju Tobirama: "If the Uchiha Clan's own leader hadn't defected, indirectly leading to my brother's death, maybe they wouldn't have been so distrusted. My policies were meant to prevent more disasters."
Seeing his younger brother and his best friend arguing, Senju Hashirama sighed and finally stepped in.
Senju Hashirama: "Can you two stop fighting?"
Senju Tobirama : "Brother, you know my policies weren't wrong. The Uchiha's Sharingan is directly linked to extreme emotional instability. Once they awaken it, their personalities become erratic. Look at Madara—he's the perfect example."
Uchiha Madara : "And yet, if you had been 'radical' enough to unify the ninja world when Konoha was first founded, we'd have peace today. So tell me, what's wrong with being radical?"
Lucas watched the two go back and forth, feeling utterly speechless. These two… are really arguing about the fall of the Uchiha Clan, but neither of them seems to realize their own responsibility in it!
The Uchiha Clan's downfall—
Tobirama's policies planted the seeds of resentment, isolating the Uchiha and making them a ticking time bomb within Konoha.
Madara's actions gave Konoha's leadership all the justification they needed to see the Uchiha as dangerous traitors.
In other words—both of them were to blame.
The Third Hokage and the council only carried out Tobirama's policies.
Obito only acted because of the seeds Madara planted.
Tobirama had lit the fuse.
Madara had ignited the flame.
