Slight dizziness and a subtle sense of discomfort once again permeated the air at the last intersection on the way home. Heidi paused, puzzled, and looked back in the direction she had come from.
A thin mist blanketed the street, clouds hung low over the rooftops, and the streetlights emitted a cold, dim glow. Some vague, shaky shadows fluctuated in the mist, occasionally emitting incomprehensible, dream-like chaotic noises, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
She furrowed her brow, catching a glimpse from the corner of her eye of some text carved into the wall beside her, the crooked symbols there giving her a headache.
Not far from the street, a robust woman stood at a doorway. Perhaps noticing Heidi, who was dazed in the middle of the road, the lady looked on with curiosity, "Good evening, do you need help?"
"…No," Heidi hesitated before responding, "I'm fine, just a bit dizzy."
