Hugo woke up the morning after his unsettling meeting with the king thanks to the sunlight shining softly through the curtains of his hotel room.
For once, he had not risen with the dawn.
Laying on the bed, he stares blankly at the ceiling and recalls his discussion with the king yesterday.
It's weighing a lot on his mind.
Despite his resolve to let others bear the brunt in his stead, his heart is unwilling to do it.
Those people are none other than his friends, albeit not so close.
But what other choice did he have?
Hugo repeatedly convinces himself that his decision is necessary.
If he didn't sacrifice others, he'll be sacrificed.

Not wanting to ruin his morning, Hugo stopped thinking about this problem and got out of his bed.
He walked to the window and pulled aside the curtain to let more light in.
The street was already bustling with activities.
