Feeling his consciousness rise from the murky waters, Cain perceived the sweet aroma of roasting flesh burrow into his nose.
His stomach growled uncontrollably.
"Here, have this." His eyes caught sight of a stick of delicious looking pieces of meat dangling right in front of his nose.
He looked up.
Evangeline sat behind him, waving the skewer of meat in front of his nose.
Cain swallowed a mouthful of saliva and reached towards it.
Evangeline moved it away at the last second.
A smirk appeared on her lips.
"Do you eat laying on your back?"
Cain snorted.
With a tired yawn, he sat up, snatching the meat skewer out of Evangeline's hand,
"Thanks."
She frowned, the sighed,
"You've been asleep for the entire day."
Cain sighed, "What can I say... The last trial was... exhausting."
He raised a brow at her as he stuffed his mouth full,
"Did you get some rest?"
She smirked then shook her head,
"No, didn't need it."
Cain shook his head, "You are very strange, Eva."
