The young God was startled by the proposal made by the lovely goddess. He didn't know what to say, seeing the confusion on young God's face, Yvonne continued with her explanation.
"I could take you to my world. We could travel to the ocean and I will teach you how to replicate the elements of life." Seeing the confusion on his face turning into excitement, she went on, "Before we go I would like you to know something." Her teasing smirk went away as she became serious.
"When we go to Ionia you will meet people on my planet. Each and every one of them will influence your personality in some way or another. So I want you to know that we can skip that and I can teach you how to manipulate forces of nature here." She didn't want the young God to learn anything that could alter his way of living. Every God was entitled to a choice and she didn't want to rob his.
The newborn started contemplating his choices. On one hand he could learn everything here or travel to the planet and mingle among the populace but he was sure that he would be altered by the people. Honestly he didn't want his perception to be changed by others but he was also raring to meet the mortals he would one day create on his own domain.
It was a quite hard choice for the young God to make, so he decided to didn't choose one but both.
"That is quite clever." Yvonne was pleasantly surprised by the newborn's choice. He had decided to observe the planet and it's inhabitants from outside. This way he could learn about the people and the way they lived while also scrutinizing the natural elements of Ionia.
"We will observe the ocean first and the huge impact it has over the ecosystem of my world. Ready?" The newborn gingerly nodded and went near the world, where he felt a pull from the magnetic zone of the world but it wasn't strong enough to drag him.
"Oceans host live forms of all shapes, sizes and also contribute most oxygen to the denizens."
"Oxygen?"
"It's the substance in air which allows the creatures of all kind to respirate and create fire." Seeing the bored look on his
"It'll be fast if I just share the information through our link." She started to send the relevant information through their link slowly in order to not overwhelm him. She sent her own memories and experiences while she was creating her world. It included her creating water from the ice meteors that crashed into the young planet. It continued upto the formation of premitive life and it's evolution to present day creatures that roamed the planet.
"Wow." Even though Yvonne was considerate during the information transfer, he was still dazed by all the information he recieved. He had witnessed life emerge from a tiny microscopic organism to the gaints that dominated the vast oceans. He was also surprised by the element similar to aether yet different which player a vital role in evolution.
"What is Mana?" He had seen Celia control the nature around them to create wonders similar to aether. Although he understood the basic principles behind it, he was still missing some pieces.
"It's a bi product of aether. Let's just say when we break aether apart in a world like this, with enough elements of life, it creates mana. If I break it apart near a water body, it will become water mana, if I break it near solid land, it makes earth mana. While some mana particles depend on the element near them, light particles and darkness depend on sunlight and night. The birth and death of organisms also factor in production of these elements."
Many things made sense to him now, including the body of Celia. It had different mana particles which had initially surprised him. But there was one more thing that didn't make sense.
"Why would you create mana, from what I saw you could have created the planet without it and creating celia took a toll on you. The amount of aether you used was tremendous." Celia was the mana core of planet. She had an aether core which helped her absorb aether from the world around her and turned it into man which she supplied to the planet through mana geysers and ley lines. There was a great haul of aether everyday. The amount of aether used everyday was astonishing.
She gave her trademark smile and lovingly looked at the world she had handcrafted. She kept staring at the planet, which made the young God impatient. After looking for a while she continued, "We Gods like to think ourselves above mortal creatures. We treat them as unworthy of our attention. Many Gods don't even care about creation. They would prefer to be left alone or bicker among themselves." Her smile was gone and was replaced with sadness.
This revelation had shook his view of Gods creating lifem he had thought that every God had planets of their own. This was anything but true. Many didn't care about mortals or their needs, at most only 4 out of 10 gods created life of their own and this number went down as the god had to spend precious time and aether in order for life to prosper.
It was simply not possible for a young God to create life and protect themselves from dangers of universe. Only elder Gods had power necessary to make it happen, but by the time they gained enough power they lost any motivation they had to follow their plans. So at end only 1 in every 10 God succeeded in creating flourishing life.
"Many Gods find it more troublesome to take care of the planet and its needs. But I think we are very similar to the creatures we create." She looked at the sprawling settlements of her choosen race dotting the grasslands and forests.
"I find my creations very intersting and much better than the stuck up Gods in the Council" Her gaze turned hard as she kept looking, as if reminiscing something bad.
"Council?" This was first time he had heard of something like this.
