Chapter 28 - The doctor

Y/N's POV

When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was a ceiling painted stark white. The sterile scent of antiseptic filled my nose, and a dull ache pounded in my head. Blinking slowly, I turned my gaze to the side and realized—I was in a hospital.

"What… how did I get here?"

I tried to sit up, but the moment I moved, a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to stay still. Before I could gather my thoughts, the sound of the door opening made me freeze. Instinctively, I shut my eyes, pretending to be asleep.

??? "Doctor, I'll take care of her."

A man's voice. Probably the one who brought me here. But what was he talking about?

Doctor: "U-Um, sir… she needs to rest!"

??? "I want to take her with me. And don't worry, I'll hire the best doctor in the city for her."

No way. I am NOT going with a stranger.

Doctor: "Sir, please try to understand! I already told you—she's weak right now. You can't take her with you!"

Suddenly, I heard a loud bang—like someone slamming their hand on a table.

??? "SHE IS MY GIRLFRIEND, AND I WILL TAKE HER HOME WITH ME! DO YOU—"

Before he could say anything else, I cut him off.

"I AM NOT ANYONE'S GIRLFRIEND!!!"

Both of them immediately turned toward me as I struggled to sit up. My head was still spinning, but I lifted a hand to stop them from helping me.

"I can sit by myself."

They hesitated but stayed in place.

Doctor: "Ma'am, I need to check your condition."

"I'm fine, doctor. I want to go home."

??? "Then let's go."

"I am not—" I stopped mid-sentence when I finally looked at the man. He the actor... Mr idiot

My eyes widened in shock.

"YOU!!!"

He smirked.

??? "Yes, babe. You know me very well, don't you?" He said

What is his problem?!

"Mister, I am NOT going anywhere with you! AND I AM NOT YOUR BABE!"

Mr. Idiot: "But I am-

"Thanks for the help," I interrupted, cutting him off before he could say whatever nonsense was on his mind. I pushed myself up from the bed, a wave of dizziness hitting me instantly. My vision blurred for a moment, but I clenched my jaw and steadied myself, refusing to show any weakness.

Doctor: "Miss, please lie down! You're still weak!"

"I'M FINE!"

I snapped at him, making Mr. Idiot flinch. His posture stiffened, and he quickly averted his gaze, looking everywhere except at me. Was he scared? Good.

Without another word, I turned and walked out of the room, fully aware of the footsteps trailing behind me. I sighed, already annoyed. Of course, he was following me.

"What is your problem?!" I turned around, only to see that he had covered his face with a mask, glasses, and a cap. He grabbed my hand.

Mr. Idiot: "You're coming with me—"

Before he could finish, loud voices echoed through the hospital.

??? "WHERE IS HE?!"

??? "WHAT IS HE DOING HERE?!"

??? "COEL!!!"

A man rushed toward us.

??? "Coel! We need to get out of here!!"

Here we go again? I thought the fans

Mr. Idiot—, I guess—nodded and grabbed my hand.

Coel: "Let's go," he whispered.

"I am not going—"

Doctor: "Sir, you have to leave now, please! And ma'am, please come with me. I need to treat you."

I sighed.

"Okay, doctor." I pulled my hand away from Mr idiot.

Mr idiot: "YOU—"

??? "Coel, we have to go. Now!"

His secretary dragged him away.

Coel: "Take care, babe! I'll meet you tomorrow, okay?" He grinned before running off.

"Idiot…" I muttered under my breath before turning back to the doctor, who was staring at me.

"Hello?! Let's go!" I said

He blinked and quickly led me back to the hospital bed.

As I lay down, I noticed that he kept looking at me.

"Are you done? Can I go now?" I said badly want to go home

Doctor: "My name is Kai. And yours?" He said

"What?" Is this guy deaf or what? Did I ask his name no right

He chuckled at my reaction.

Doctor: "Nice to meet you, What!"

I stared at him in disbelief.

"My name is NOT 'What'!"

Doctor: "Ohhh, sorry, Not What."

I clenched my fists.

"MY NAME IS Y/N, YOU IDIOT!"

He looked startled but then grinned.

Doctor: "Ahh… Y/N. A beautiful name."

Suddenly, I felt bad for yelling at him.

"I-I'm sorry," I mumbled.

Doctor: "Don't be. I just wanted to know a little about you. And don't worry, you can trust me. I'm not a bad person."

"I know… but can I go home now?"

He sighed.

Doctor: "You can, but first, take this medicine. I wrote down the instructions."

"T-Thanks."

He helped me up.

Doctor: "I have to go now, Y/N. But here, take my card. Call me if you need any help."

He handed me his card.

"A-Okay."

I turned to leave, but he stopped me.

Doctor: "Wait—my driver will take you home."

I frowned.

"I—"

Doctor: "You're weak. Please listen to me."

"But—"

Without another word, he pulled out his phone and called someone.

Doctor: "Yeah… come."

A few minutes later, a car pulled up.

"I can manage, doctor," I protested.

He gave me a look and motioned toward the car.

I sighed and got in.

Doctor: "Call me when you reach home." His voice was firm, almost possessive.

I nodded. He smiled.

Doctor: "Bye. Take care, okay?"

He waved as the driver started the car.

---

Inside the Car

Driver: "Ready, ma'am?"

"Y-Yes."

Driver: "Can you tell me the address, ma'am?"

"Yes." I gave him my address.

The driver looked to be in his forties. He seemed kind.

Driver: "Ma'am, can I ask you something?"

I glanced at him.

Driver: "What's your relationship with Sir?"

I frowned.

Driver: "I-I'm sorry, ma'am! It's just… I've known him for ten years, and I've never seen him with any girl before. He's young and successful, but…"

"We just met today. I'm his patient."

I said it quickly, feeling embarrassed.

The driver chuckled.
