Chapter 29 - Chapter 28 Yila's Dream

"I want to see Satanleaf."

Yila reported, and the two rows of black knights guarding the Demon King's bedroom parted almost immediately after Yila finished speaking, allowing Yila and Vera to pass.

*Why? Why is this happening?!*

"You guys... no, never mind."

Yila initially wanted to say something but then gave up the idea. He, along with Vera and the little fairy on his shoulder, walked through the grand doors of the Demon King's bedroom.

"Knock, knock~"

Yila gently knocked on the door; the ornate and beautifully patterned door before him looked quite grand. However, neither he nor Vera was really surprised by it. In fact, this door seemed rather modest for a King.

After all, the King's bedroom in the Empire was an actual palace, not just a room in a castle like the one where Satanleaf slept. No matter how luxurious this room was, it was just a room.

To put it simply, this place could even be referred to as a "bedroom."

"..."

After waiting for a while, Yila did not get a response. As Satanleaf's personal maid, Hilena should have been with Satanleaf, and Satanleaf had a team of maids to take care of her.

"Should we break in?"

Vera suggested, earning a glare from Yila and the little fairy.

"What's with those looks? I was just joking..."

In Vera's complaint, the bedroom doors were opened by Hilena, who was impeccably dressed and nodded at them, saying, "Good morning, Lord Yila, Miss Vera, and this little fairy."

"Good morning."

Yila responded to Hilena with formalities. Although he had rushed here without even eating breakfast, he still greeted politely: "Another sunny day, and the wind remains..."

Vera, exasperated, quickly got to the point, pointing to the little fairy, interrupting Yila's small talk and saying, "The little fairy said there were wild fairies coming for help. Giant wasps have taken over the wild fairy nest near the Demon King Territory, hoping we can help."

Vera swiftly explained the situation in just a few words.

Although she did not elaborate, as the little fairy did not understand much either, it was enough to let Hilena know what was happening. However...

"I see, it seems to be a good chance to supplement labor in the Demon King Territory..."

Hilena analyzed, then looked at both Vera and Yila, somewhat puzzled, and said, "So, are we planning to take the Demon King to witness the battle? Should I wake her up?"

Apparently, the barbecue that went on last night lasted quite a bit. For a child, staying up late could indeed be tiring.

"Actually, I'm here to request instructions from Satanleaf."

Yila said, noticing Hilena and Vera's helpless expressions and adding, "I know you think there's no need for instructions, but I don't understand how I can mobilize the army to annihilate the giant wasps without asking her."

Indeed, Yila did not understand. He could not fathom others' thinking. Without orders, could he really command the black knights or headless knights, or insect men to kill enemies?

"It's quite simple, you just need to go to each leader's area and explain the situation to the people you're familiar with."

Hilena said, laughing as she shook her head lightly, "If something is beneficial to the Demon King Territory, no one would refuse your needs, right? Lord Yila can give it a try... So, do we still need to wake the Demon King?"

"I... But..."

Yila, at a loss for words, tried to remain calm, adapting to the Demon King Territory's unconventional colleague relationships and the fact he did not need to report anything, just go ahead and do it.

In these few days at the Demon King Territory, Yila encountered the most common phrases like "Oh, just go ahead and do it" and "Alright, no need to ask me." It seemed... Satanleaf really did not need to know what was happening in the Demon King Territory.

Satanleaf could accept "XXX happened, how should we proceed? Please instruct!" during morning briefings and choose the most appropriate course of action. She also accepted "XXX happened, I did AAA about it, resulting in QQQQ" like weekly reports.

*She didn't mind her subordinates acting on their own ideas!*

*Although one could say she did not have the demeanor of a King, did not adhere to the normal etiquette, manners, and sense required to govern a nation, nor possess any sense of responsibility, she was simply super adorable!*

*How could there be such a King in the world?*

"Seriously, what is Satanleaf thinking..."

*Despite questioning inwardly, Yila couldn't help but smile a smile that even he didn't understand why he wore. He laughed joyfully and said, "Hahahahaha, well then... Hilena, please wake Satanleaf, she indeed needs to witness or participate in battle."

"..."

Hilena squinted at Yila, apparently sensing something, and couldn't help but laugh as she said, "Understood, Lord Yila, I'll wake the Demon King now."

Watching Hilena turn and walk into the room, Yila let out a long sigh: "Whoo..."

"..."

"Yila, what were you thinking just now?"

Vera asked, frowning, "When you were speaking, the Mana around us quivered. They were actually cheering... What happened?"

In response, Yila lightly looked at her and while smiling, answered, "I understand some things, understand what I need to do, what I cannot do, and understand the differences between who I am now and who I was in the Empire."

With black knights curiously looking on, Vera, like them, stared at Yila, asking, "What?"

"I can do anything."

Yila said, fully comprehending... the meaning behind not needing to request instructions from the King, not considering the royal family's dignity, not balancing power, and not hiding one's abilities to maintain the court's stability.

"Everything is permitted; I am permitted to be truly myself, permitted to do everything I want to do. I need not suppress or care... because Satanleaf does not care either."

Yila said, voicing words that would have caused backlash in the Empire, but knowing no one would care here. His face lit up with undeniable joy, saying, "This trust, though not comparable to Isabella's, is purer."

"Trust that is unaffected by anything else."

Yila knew Vera understood him now, and in Vera's proud look of "See, isn't the Demon King's place great?" he said, "I can do what I want, so I can achieve anything!"

"Next! I want to fulfill the dream I fought for my whole life! But not in the Empire, here in this Demon King Territory! Let me build a kingdom where I can live contentedly!"
