Turning my head to face Liam, I asked as cold as possible.
"Are you going to seek revenge?"
Liam studied me and smiled after a moment.
"Of course not!" He smiled and said with his arms open. "What Qian Feng received is what he deserved. If it wasn't because of him taunting you, you wouldn't tick off and shut his mouth up permanently."
I nodded my head and kicked Qian Feng's body away. His eyes were still wide open with shock. Blood was trickling out from the hole in his body and I tried my best to restrain myself from puking. At least not now, not in front of Liam and his group. I couldn't afford to show weakness just yet.
Roars of the risen started to sound around us. Apparently, all the yelling from Qian Feng lured them here. Now the smell of blood made them even agitated. "Watch out for our surroundings, the risen are now all coming towards us." Alex said as he pointed at my back.
Nodding my head. I took a glance at Demetria who was still puking.
"Do you think I did something wrong?" I asked Demetria as I walked towards her. Handling her a handkerchief, I motioned her to wipe the spit near her mouth. "No… not exactly wrong. But maybe there was a better way of handling the situation." Demetria spoke in a soft voice as if what I did just now scared her. Which I suppose it did.
"You were probably right," I said as I turned over to fight off the horde of risen rushing towards us. "But between a more subtle way and killing him so that he doesn't annoy me any further, I choose the latter."
Demetria did not meet my eyes as I spoke to her. She kept her mouth shut and head lowered. I chose not to continue pressing her and went back to killing the risens.

With Liam and the others by our side, we extinguished the horde of risen very quickly.
Name: Tang Jun Wen
Age: 18
Race: Human
Condition: Healthy, slightly tired
LV: 4 (Upgradable)
Abilities: Death's Grasp, Throwing Stab (Locked)
Points: 340
Mana: 100
Health: 100
"You guys are good," I said as I wiped off the bloodstain on my face. Blood and gore spewed out from the risen as I slashed and stabbed. The more I killed, the more intense feeling inside of me that I could kill them in a single strike became stronger and stronger.
I could upgrade myself to lv 5 now. I wanted to find a more private space to upgrade myself but I decided against it as I needed to show my strength to Liam and the others for just two simple reasons.
Firstly, I needed to show them that I'm much stronger than them so that they won't be doing anything stupid. That was for the safety for me and my team. The second reason was just simply easy. To show off my strength so that rumors that I am strong enough to toy with someone will spread out, thus ensuring my rule over the students back in the school.
"Upgrade." I said.
Strength: 20 +
Stamina: 15 +
Wits: 23 +
Max Mana: 100 +
Max Health: 100 +
I thought for a second and decided to continue upgrade my strength.
Strength: 25
Stamina: 15
Wits: 23
Max Mana: 100
Max Health: 100
"Wait a second. Tang Jun Wen, you can upgrade again? What LV are you now?" Liam exclaimed as I just finished upgrading myself.
I turned and smiled at him. "Currently LV 5, thanks to this guy down here." I said as I kicked Qian Feng's corpse. "I wouldn't be able to LV up to LV 5 if it wasn't because of him. It seems that even a garbage has its uses."
I could see Liam balling up his fists, which was exactly what I wanted. I wanted to get rid of him, my consciousness is telling me that Liam was a person too dangerous to be kept around. If I didn't heed my consciousness', one fine day I would be meeting my demise all because of him. To my surprise, Liam kept his cool and smiled. "Of course, that's what he deserved."
"Lets get back to the others. Have you guys got the weapons you needed?" I gritted my teeth and forced a smile.
"Yes we did." Liam said and signaled someone behind him. He pulled out two plastic swords and handed them over to Amelia and Alex. "There you go. All there was inside the storeroom was only a bunch of plastic swords. But they're still better than nothing."
I let loose a sigh. There I thought I missed something good inside that pile of junk.
"You good to go?" I held out my hand and helped Demetria up.
She nodded her head. Pulling her up, I said. "Lets get back to the other. We've wasted enough time here already. The risen are more agitated during the night."
Sheathing our weapons, we started forging back to the school hall. We walked softly at a brisk pace with our full attention. Even though we were getting near the school hall, we still couldn't afford to let our guard down.
Suddenly, a sharp pain ran through my head. I groaned a little and tried to brace myself from falling.
Please receive your first-place rewards in 1 hour otherwise it will be discarded.
It suddenly dawned to me that I forgot to receive my first-place reward yesterday. I turned to the others and said. "I have some unfinished business. You guys go on. Demetria, tell Ken to wait for me, I have something to tell him."
Demetria opened her mouth to protest but closed it just as fast.
"You'll be safe right?" she asked.
Nodding my head, I turned around and started walking away, finding a place that was quiet enough. I tuned a few times along the way to make sure nobody was following me. Along the way, I did not run into any risen, that may be a good thing as it may mean that we cleared out most of the risen in the schoolyard already.
Stopping myself in a corner, I said.
"Open first-place reward."
First-place reward opened.
Ballista Blueprint X1
Medical Salve X5
Slave Collar X1
Empty Map X1
I was shocked to find out that the first-place rewards would be so full of surprises. But what really interested me was the ballista blueprint. Before I had the chance to open it from my inventory and take a closer look at it, I started to hear footsteps coming close to me.
"Who's there?!" I demanded and prepared a fighting stance.
I called out when I heard footsteps because I made sure that there were no risen near me when I was opening the first-place rewards. So the source of the sound could only be made from a human.
"Tang?" Devora peeked her head out and said. "What on earth are you doing here?"
"That should be what I'm asking. What are YOU doing here?" I asked back, frowning.
"I was roaming around, making sure that there were no more risen near the perimeter of the hall." Devora muttered. "Ken told me to do so."
I took a deep breath and nodded. It didn't seem that Devora happened to notice what I was doing just now. "They're waiting for you. Are you going to go back?" Devora asked me as I started walking towards her.
"Yeah, time's running. Its almost night, we should just get indoors."
Walking back towards the hall, we both kept quiet as we walked. Making the atmosphere around us a little weird.
"Did I say thank you to you before?" I suddenly asked. "The time when you took care of me after I fainted?"
Devora smiled as she answered. "Of course you did."
We continued walking in silence. For some unapparent reason, the time we used to walk back to the hall seemed to be longer than usual. I'll admit it, I've had a few crushes back in the days and Devora was one of them. Walking alone with her was just… different.
"Why are you dodging me?" Devora asked.
This sentence brought me a panic attack. "Dodging you? No I'm not. Why do you think so?"
Devora took a better look at me and said. "I don't know. But I have a feeling that you're feeling uncomfortable when you're with me. You seem to be on edge for reasons that I don't know."
Hearing this, I almost jolted up myself. Killing zombies are okay for me, dealing with girls? Not so much.
I forced myself a smile and said.
"Huh? You must be thinking things. I'm fine, c'mon. lets get back. Tang and the others must be missing us."
I started to quicken up my pace, leaving Devora behind. I made sure that there were no risen on the way so it was totally fine to leave her alone like that. That girl's not an idiot, she can find her way back herself.
