Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Actually Getting Closer

With my hands in my pocket, since I already finished all my laps while Cha was still on her second lap, I looked at the club leader and glared at him.

"W- why are you staring at me like that?"

"You know exactly why what you said to her when I was under the tree."

"You heard that!?"

Ignoring whatever he was doing and looking at Cha continuously run around again for some time, she had completed all the laps and immediately stopped to catch her breath.

Both her agility and endurance were satisfactory, but since she ran at full speed right when we got the go-to run, she got tired more quickly.

Her form for sprinting was also nearing perfect, so even if she was doing some useless movements while running, in due time she'll have perfect form.

Of course, that'll probably be close to when she awakens two years before the story starts.

Hold on. Can't I just accelerate the process of her awakening into a hunter sooner because of my mana, or will it not work?

I mean, since my mana is from a different universe that I had chosen in that infinite void, the property of how it's utilized is probably different than how the mana of this universe works.

My mana can only be used by me while the mana from this universe can be used by everyone. There is one exception though and that one exception is Sung since he's going to have the mana of the Shadow Monarch soon.

Bringing my hand forward, palm up. I then mixed and used my Demonic and Divine Energy.

The two energies were trying to destroy and get away from each other since they hadn't been so close in so long because they hated each other, I gradually calmed the two energies' dispute as they then slowly began accepting each other.

Feeling someone put their hand on mine as the two energies had now dispersed, I assumed it was the club leader so I darted my eyes forward and got ready to hit him but I saw no one.

Confused, I looked left and right, but I still found no one. That's when I then glanced down a little and saw that Cha was awkwardly grasping my open hand with a hint of red on her face.

"What are you doing?"

"Loosening up . . . your nerves?"

"Now that you've finished your laps around the track, you'll have to wait for a couple of hours or days to become an official member of the club. You are free to stay today since you're already here though."

"So, about-"

"If you're talking about the invitation to hang out after school today, I'll be waiting in front of the school for you."

"Okay."

Going back to the track and running more laps even faster than usual, I needed to be energized for later because someone had to be mischievous.

- End of School -

Leaning against the front gate as my hand was in my pocket while skimming through my phone, I looked up and saw Cha coming toward me.

'This just feels creepy.'

With Cha saying goodbye to her friends while walking toward me, her friends then started teasing her about going somewhere with an upperclassman.

Now that she was getting closer to where I was, I took my hand out of my pocket and then shoved my phone into my back pocket.

Getting my back off the front gate and picking up my bag which was on the floor, I said, "Those your friends?"

Startled by my sudden question, she quickly answered with, "Yes. I've known them since I was seven years old."

"Must be pretty annoying?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, seeing as how you didn't even try to stop them from teasing you, it must be pretty annoying whenever something which can make you embarrassed is said by them. Of course, I just met you today, so whatever I say right now or in the future, just take it in with a grain of salt."

I'm not trying to make her separate from her friends who she's known for quite a while, I'm just trying to make her into a more confident person.

She may seem like she's calm on the outside right now, but because of my powers and abilities, I can tell that she is in turmoil because of what I said.

"Stop trying to overanalyze what I said. All I'm trying to say to you is that you should do whatever's in your mind; if whatever's in your mind isn't illegal that is."

When she heard the rest of what I had to say, her troubled face turned to that of a happy smile.

"Alright!"

We were currently walking around with no destination because she had suddenly invited us to hang out, so I said. "Do you know a place that has good food near here?"

"Hmm . . . Ah! I know one place, but it might take us a while to get there, so-."

"The time it takes to get there honestly doesn't matter to me since we get more time to get to know each other."

Now that we had a place to go to, we continued walking side by side as Cha put the location into her phone.

"So, do you have any siblings?"

"I do. Two younger siblings at that. The youngest is a girl named Jinah and she's currently nine. The middle child is a boy, he's fourteen, and his name is Jin-woo."

"Where does the middle child, I mean, Jin-woo, attend school?"

"Where we're attending. Basically, in our school. What? Do you want to meet him? You're both the same age with him being slightly older than you."

"Uh, I think I'll meet him later. We're currently trying to get to know each other better, right?"

"I guess you're correct. Well, shouldn't we be near the place where you said the food was good?"

"Let me see . . . Oh. We'll get there in just a couple of minutes."

"Since you asked me if I had any brothers or sisters, do you have any siblings, or do you not?"
