Julius had no idea what he expected the black market to look like.
Maybe sewers. Maybe caves. Maybe shadowy figures in trench coats whispering, "You wanna buy a cursed sword?"
He didn't expect it to feel like falling into someone else's forgotten dream.
Montgomery led the way with his old memories, apparently he was a frequent visitor.
The air shimmered the moment he stepped between the two leaning stones Montgomery told him about. Time wobbled. The trees behind him vanished like ink washed away in rain.
Ahead, a winding market sprawled in a dark cave as if a devil had taken a bite from the world. It was pitch black in certain places, torches strained to preserve their orange light.Candles burned upside-down. Creatures whispered in languages that dripped like honey and blood.
"What is this place?" It's like another world... I didn't see a cave as I was heading here...
"It's a magical domain, set up just for this black market." Montgomery chuckled. "It's quite powerful too."
