Chapter 146 - The Greedy Witch 4

-Echidna-

"Oh, this is good." Echidna couldn't help but praise the tea she was drinking, it was way better than hers.

Not to mention, these lovely desserts perfectly blended with the tea in her hand; with an elegant sip, she let out a sigh of satisfaction.

"I'm glad you like it." The owner of the shop said.

"Compliments to the chef."

"Well, you heard that Archer!" He told the man with silver hair.

Although he didn't verbally answer, his body language was enough for her to know that he was pleased.

Still, it was quite a surprise for a killer like him to be good with something like this; aside from that, the most unexpected thing for her was the owner of the shop.

'What was his name again? Ah, yes, that's right, Alexander,' She thought.

Compared to her earlier mental image of him before, it was vastly different now that she met him.

After all, it's only fair for her to think the owner of this place would be more, let's say intimidating.

But to her surprise, he was more of a laid-back kind of person and wasn't intimidating at all.

However, she doesn't dare to underestimate him as the owner of this place, there's no way he would be someone ordinary.

Even a food could see that, in front of her was the list of different items that could potentially save everyone in her world.

Each contains powers that normal people can't comprehend; some even defy the laws of physics, and others are simply miracles in the form of items.

Echidna wasn't going to lie to herself; she wanted them all so badly. She wouldn't be the Witch Of Greed if she didn't desire all of the things on the screen in front of her.

But she knew very well that it wouldn't be possible, as each of the items on the list cost a lot.

Though, she still wasn't sure how she would be able to use this establishment currency.

So she asked him and it was simpler than she thought, to simply put she just needed to trade things in value and convert them into credits.

That's not all, she could trade everything, not just metaphorically but literally.

She could trade her soul, knowledge, power, body, and even authority for the currency of this shop.

What a convenient system, she couldn't and chuckled in amusement, but at the same time, it's very practical and greedy.

"Care to tell me what's so amusing?" Alexander asked.

"Oh, this convenient system is quite assuming to me, I'm quite jealous of it. Now, if it's possible for me to replicate it, I would." Echidna answered honestly.

"I see." The owner nodded in understanding, then smiled widely at her. "Then would you like to buy something similar in my shop? As long as you exchange enough you'll be able to replicate it."

She could see what he was doing from a mile away, but it didn't faze her at all. Instead, it made her laugh, genuinely. "My, my, if you continue doing that, I might fall for you, sir. How greedy of you."

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if you did; after all, it would be an achievement of its own, for a beauty of your caliber falls for me." He didn't back out. Instead, he countered while smirking.

Echidna had to admit that this man was good with words, as she was quite flattered by his words.

Despite her reputation, only a few dared to flirt with her, not because she wasn't beautiful or desirable but because of her title of a witch.

Which is pretty infamous in her time, just a mere mention of that makes her potential suitor leave.

While she wasn't a shallow woman, it did feel good to be complimented once in a while by a man.

He was no Flugel, but it was more than enough to satisfy her.

"I'm flattered. However, I do have a question: if I exchange a certain knowledge from myself, would I be able to re-learn that knowledge after losing it?" Echidna would like to know if she can abuse this loophole.

The owner himself was quite surprised, but after contemplating for a while he answered. "You certainly can. However, you can't convert the same knowledge twice; even if you did, you won't be able to get anything from it."

It was a shame, but it was one she expected after all; if that kind of loophole exists, the credits here might as well be free.

But she wasn't too disappointed; at the very least, she could relearn what she lost, or else she would be very reluctant to exchange knowledge.

To her, knowledge was everything. Without knowledge, she simply doesn't know how to live.

Death might as well be a better alternative, she can't live without it.

Either way, exchanging some of her knowledge with the converter was a win-win situation for her, as she would be able to read that particular set of knowledge again without any spoiler at all.

Echidna decided to exchange an enormous amount of knowledge that an ordinary man wouldn't be able to learn even if they spent their entire lifetime.

She also exchanged a few hundred of her spells that she didn't find necessary, and at the end of the exchange, she made quite a lot.

But still wasn't quite enough for the item she desired.

Ultimately she decided after thinking about the pros and cons of the item she wanted.

"Convert my Witch Factor along with my Authority."

Her words were unexpected, to think she dared to exchange her authority, not to mention the witch factor, which was the origin of the authority of that said sin.

Meaning there's no successor for the witch factor of greed in her world.

However, thinking about it. I realized that it might not be a bad thing at all; I mean, without the witch factor, Regulus or the Archbishop Of Greed wouldn't exist at all.

Without the witch factor or greed, he wouldn't become the monster that he was in the canon timeline.

This act alone would cause a massive butterfly effect in Echidna's world; whether it's good or bad, it doesn't matter as the future of that world would change.

Then as per her wishes, I exchanged her authority and witch factor to M.C (Multiversal Credits).

While the authority didn't get much, however, the witch factor was exchanged for millions.

And was enough for whatever item she wanted from the shop.

I curiously looked at the item she wanted, and to be honest, I wasn't surprised at all, considering what her nature was.

The item she bought was called The Book Of Akashic Records. It was a very simplified, not to mention degraded version of the original Akashic Records, but this was an overpowered item if you know how to use it.

It's a mini root; magi from my world would kill for this book; it's not even an exaggeration.

In the end, she picked a good item. It was a book that could answer every question without fail, although there are limits like she could only ask a single question per year.

It feels like a dragon ball rip-off, but it's not as those dragon balls are strictly limited to the verse and not the entire multiverse.

One could argue that she exchanged a better version of her Tome Of Wisdom.

Satisfied with the trade, I gave her a card so that she would be able to come back anytime she wanted.

After Echidna left, I didn't immediately go back to my world and decided to try the gacha again as it's been quite some time since I used it.

This time, I wasn't as poor as I was before and immediately changed the fixed cost to 1,000 per spin.

And so I didn't hesitate to pull the lever 10 times, and this time, I didn't get any common or rare. The lowest grade I had this time was orange, which was Epic.

I even got 2 legendaries and 1 unique, the rest are epic grade.

Before opening the unique and legendary grade capsule, I opened the epic graded capsules first.

1. Random Servant Summoning Ticket (FGO)

2. Rifle Type Teigu: Pumpkin (Akame Ga Kill)

3. Devil Fruit Logia Type: Pika Pika No Mi (One Piece)

4. Iron Man's Armor: Mark II (MCU)

5. Peach Of Immortality (Wuxia)

6. Master Ball (Pokemon)

7. Stand Arrow (Jojo)

Holy shit! All of these are ridiculous! Is this the criteria for having an epic-graded capsule?

What about the higher ones? Looking at the last 3 capsules with great expectations, when I was about to open them.

All of a sudden, a customer arrived at the exact moment making me a bit annoyed by the interruption, but it quickly disappeared and was replaced with concern as I saw the guest coughing so bad that they spit blood.

It was clearly not due to injury; it could only mean that this person was ill.

Then I saw her collapsing; I couldn't stop myself from stepping in; there was no way I'd allow anyone to die in my establishment.

That's why I cast a healing spell on her, but unfortunately, it didn't work at all, which I frowned at. "What exactly is her disease that causes my spell not to work at all?"

I decided to check her profile and I paused at her name. "Meteria…?"

It's a random person, no it's a girl?! No, it's Bell's mom!

Yep, it's Meteria from Danmachi!
