Well, if one really wanted to look at it, it could be argued that Di Tou spent all of his time traveling. After all, with the exception of resting, Di Tou's entire daily program consisted of traveling out further and further, following the trail of the moon chunks, in hopes of finding the source of the non moon chunk material.
But right now the issue was that about a fifth of his time was used just getting back to where he was, this time was basically 'wasted' as he wouldn't make any new discoveries, or have any chance of finding anything new and significant.
If it was just a fifth of his time, Di Tou could still tolerate it, as if nothing else he could cut back a little bit on his resting time to account for his commute… This was all very ordinary stuff that any working person would have to deal with anyways!
