Levi swallowed hard, then sighed deeply, the weight of his words pressing down on him. "I was just fourteen years old when I discovered that my mother wasn't really... well, my mum." His gaze drifted toward Kayden, searching for understanding. "Remember what I told you about the relationship between Everette and me?"
Kayden nodded slowly, his brow furrowing in thought. "Yeah, you said you two were half-brothers."
Levi hesitated for a moment, then shrugged as if trying to shake off the burden of his truth. "Well... I lied. Everette is actually my older brother."
The two stared at him, confusion etched on their faces, but it was Bryson who finally broke the silence.
"That's not possible," he said incredulously. "I personally did a background check on Everette; we didn't get much, but for his age, it said twenty-one, and you're twenty-three, Levi."
