*~*Talia's POV*~*
With the key still clutched in my hand, I heard Lex's voice calling out to me. He was trying to get my attention, as he spoke softly, and gently.
"Talia?" He put one of his large hands onto mine. "Are you OK?"
"Yeah." I smiled, but it almost felt forced. "I just wasn't expecting this, that's all." The nervous laugh that escaped then made me sound deranged and scary, even to my own ears.
"We don't have to-." He started, but I interrupted him. I could tell he was worried about me, and nervous about what was to come next.
"No, it's not that." I shook my head. "It's just, this whole day has been a bit of a whirlwind. Everything has been great, it's just finally catching up to me." This time when I smiled, it was more normal and less forced. "I am not at all scared or worried about going up to the room with you, Lex. Don't think that at all." I felt as if my previous response had somehow upset him, but he would never tell me the truth about it.
