Chapter 49 - Chapter 48 - Namek

God, this entire planet was so confusing...

As soon as I landed here, I noticed that it was green. I know that it sounds stupid, but there was no other way to put it, it was just green with some bits of water here and there.

There were no distinguishing markers or anything around this place. It was an endless plain of goddamn green blue. Even if you had a very detailed map to navigate around the planet, you'd get lost instantly because everything looked exactly the goddamn same as it did two minutes ago.

I had been flying around for about eight-ish minutes and I am about ninety percent sure that I had passed the same plateau like six damn times.

The only way I knew for certain that I was even going in the right direction was because I had been using my Ki sense to guide me around the entire time. The energy I had been sensing and using as a goal point had been getting closer as time went on.

I had sensed it pretty much second that I landed down on this rock. As far as I could tell, there was a pretty decently sized settlement a bit of ways away from where I had landed my ship with about fifteen or so signatures.

I could have just used Kai Ka to teleport there, but I didn't want to suddenly just pop out of nowhere on a foreign alien species, that would just be uncivilized.

Then again, Goku did it, but he had also saved their entire species so I think they were a bit more accommodating...

Plus, I didn't just want to pop in out of nowhere and demand that they give me the Dragon Balls. Again, would be uncivilized. Sure, I could kill them all with all of my limbs tied behind my back without a shred of remorse, but I'm not exactly fond of causing the mass genocide of an entire race unless I had a reason to.

...Or unless I was bored...

God, I really need to stop hanging around Frost Demons in my spare time, that sounded like something Cooler would say...

Honestly though, I've destroyed so many planets and star systems that I think I've just become numb to just how fucked up all of it really was.

I mean I've massacred so many people. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of planets by this point. All of them with people... People that added up to the hundreds of millions... probably even billions...

I've destroyed so many families, so many children...

Is it really alright for me to-- Oh, hey, I can finally see the village!

About damn time... I was getting bored...

---

Y'know, on hindsight, maybe landing right in the middle of their village instead of landing the outskirts and making myself known as I slowly walked in might have been an even dumber idea than just using Kai Kai...

My sudden appearance caused the Namekian villagers to be both shocked and frightened by me, which was understandable...

They stood there, looking at me with caution as one of them ran into one of the buildings at, what I assumed, was the back of the village.

If I had to wager, that Namekian was probably running to fetch the village Elder. At least I think that's what the leaders of Namekian villages called themselves.

All I have to go on is my very foggy memory and the fact that Guru was called Grand Elder Guru.

I wonder if outsiders could become Elders if they were generally accepted by the Namekian people?

They seemed like a nice enough race to allow something like that. Then again, I don't exactly have a pure heart. If anything, my heart would be stained pitch black considering all the people I murdered.

It's why I kept my energy from leaking out from my body. I don't know how exactly that whole "sensing evil" nonsense works, but I have a feeling that it had something to do with the energy that your body produces.

"Are you an alien?" I suddenly hear a small voice ask.

I look around before looking down to see a small Namekian child standing right in front of me.

Hearing the shocked murmurs around me, it's safe to assume that he wasn't exactly supposed to be going up to the random alien stranger that just flown into his village and start asking them questions.

Ah, children... So innocent and dumb...

I wonder how Kakarot's doing...

"I guess I would be, yeah." I told him as I knelt down to look at him at his level.

"You guess?" He asked, tilting his head a bit in confusion.

"See, from my perspective, you guys are the aliens." I replied, pointing my finger at his chest.

"What does perspective mean?" He asked, tilting his head to the other side now.

Oh, right, child.

My mistake.

"It means from my point of view." I answered before motioning to his fellow villagers and saying, "You all see me as an alien, but since I'm not from here, I see you guys as the aliens. That make sense?"

"Oooh!" The child muttered in realization before nodding his head.

"Poda! Come!" A deep voice suddenly sounded out.

I look up and see an old looking Namekian, who for some reason seems very familiar to me...

The child runs off towards the Elder, who places a hand on the child's head before sending him towards another Namekian.

The Elder looks back at me with an inquisitive gaze before asking, "Are you friend or foe...?"

"Friend." I answered as I stood back up.

It wasn't technically a lie. I wasn't going to do anything to them. Not unless they strike first, of course. Or deny me the Dragon Balls.

"What is your purpose here... um...?" He paused, waiting for me to give him my name.

"Zyleth." I introduced myself with a small bow of my head.

"Zyleth..." He repeated, putting my name to memory before again asking, "What is your purpose here, Zyleth?"

"I was hoping if it was possible for me use your Dragon Balls." I replied.

My answer caused the Namekians that were listening to whisper amongst themselves, which only quieted down when their Elder raised both his hands and politely motioned for them to stop.

"What is it that you want from our Dragon Balls, Zyleth?" He asked.

Christ, there's not enough time in the day...

But I should probably stick to just one answer, and try to grip them emotionally somehow with it. Sympathy is always useful when talking to a kind-hearted race.

Scummy, but it works.

"I wish to revive someone from the Afterlife." I answered honestly.

His gaze seems to grow solemn before asking, "May I ask who this person is to you?"

"The friend of a friend." I replied.

It wasn't technically a lie.

Shin was just a friend that I just hadn't met yet, and the person in question was certainly his friend. Hell, he might start worshipping me as a god once I bring her back to life. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass?

The Elder nods and ponders my words for a moment before letting out a sigh and saying, "I am Elder Moori."

Ah, now I remember him...

He was the guy who became the Grand Elder after Guru died. No wonder he looked so familiar. I don't remember much about him, but I do remember that he was pretty integral to Dende becoming the next Guardian of Earth.

"And I would have gladly helped you revive your friend, but I'm afraid that my village's Dragon Ball alone will not be able to help you." He says.

"I know, you need all seven to summon the dragon." I nodded.

"You already know?" He asks, surprised at my knowledge of how the Dragon Balls work. "Then you also know that the other Dragon Balls are scattered around in different villages, and that you cannot wish upon them for you do not know the Namekian Language."

"I was hoping to find one of you who would be able to help me with that as I travel around Namek." I told him, making my intentions known.

"I see..." He muttered, taking a moment to think before saying, "There... is another way that I may help you..."

He walks into one of the houses and comes back out a few seconds later, holding the six-star Namekian Dragon Ball.

"Follow me. I will take you to see the Grand Elder."
