Chapter 10 - Chapter-10

The sun had barely risen when Adam found himself standing in the expansive courtyard of the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, a quiet stillness settling over the compound. His focus was on Arika, the young swordswoman who was learning the art of Total Concentration Breathing. His instructions were calm, measured, as she struggled to push past her physical limitations, sweat glistening on her brow.

"I know it's hard," he said to Arika, pausing in his stance to watch her closely, "but remember, breathing is about mastering your body's natural rhythm. Total Concentration is about unlocking the potential within."

She nodded, determined, and he could see the spark of growth in her eyes. The small Kaguya, who had been watching from the sidelines, was filled with curiosity, his eyes wide as he tried to mimic their stances. His small hands clenched into tiny fists, and Adam could see the excitement on the boy's face. A part of Adam wanted to teach him, but he also knew that to truly make a difference, Kagaya would need more than physical techniques. There was a battle for his soul yet to come, and Adam wasn't sure if it was right to push the boy down that path yet.

'Nano' Adam thought, his mind speaking to the AI silently, 'Is there a way to help these people—without taking away their fight for their own survival?'

Nano responded with an analysis. [You could reverse their curse. Cure their affliction, but that would rob them of the very things that make them human. The struggle for survival is essential to humanity's purpose. If you give them too much power, you risk giving them too little meaning]

Adam knew this to be true. There were countless ways to manipulate the world, but doing so with wisdom and restraint was what truly mattered. And so, as the sun set and Arika retired to her room, he quietly made his way to Tamayo's quarters, a plan in mind.

Inside the dimly lit room, Tamayo was already waiting for him. The atmosphere was soft, serene, but there was a palpable tension in the air. She wore the same thin kimono as before, her hair cascading down her back in gentle waves.

"You're here," she said softly as Adam entered. Her gaze lingered on him, as if searching for something more than just the man who stood before her.

"I have what you asked for," Adam replied, his voice steady. He could sense the air between them shifting. The conversation they were about to have was critical.

He motioned for Nano to soundproof the room. It wasn't a measure of distrust, but simply precaution—there were things that needed to be said in privacy.

"Are you ready?" Adam asked, holding the serum in his hand. The vial shimmered faintly in the dim light. It was no ordinary serum—this was the culmination of Nano's work.

Tamayo took the serum from his hand with a steady but slightly trembling grip. "How was it made?" she asked, her curiosity getting the better of her, but Adam didn't answer directly. Instead, he just nodded.

"It's true," he said. "What you saw in the scroll is real. Everything is within reach. You have the potential for greater power than even Muzan."

Tamayo's eyes gleamed, her lips parted slightly in awe. Without a second thought, she drank the serum in one swift motion. At first, there was nothing—then a deep, overwhelming warmth began spreading from her core.

The heat intensified. Pain shot through her body like fire, scorching every nerve. She gasped and collapsed onto the floor, her breath catching in her throat as her body convulsed.

"Tamayo..." Adam whispered under his breath. He was there beside her instantly, kneeling down, watching her as the transformation took place.

'Nano,' Adam thought. 'Can you track her vitals?'

Nano responded swiftly. [The serum is taking effect. It's not fully stable yet, but it's a process]

The night passed, and when the morning sun crept into the room, Tamayo awoke with a start. Her eyes shot open, panic flooding her system at the touch of sunlight on her skin. She had spent centuries in the dark, her form unable to withstand sunlight without perishing. But now… now she felt the warmth differently. The serum had done its work.

As she sat up, Adam was there, watching her carefully. Tamayo's gaze immediately locked onto him. Without a word, she threw herself at him, her arms wrapping around him in a sudden, desperate embrace.

"You're... you're the one who gave me this chance," she whispered in his ear, voice thick with emotion.

Adam, always cautious, allowed the moment to pass before gently pulling back. "You're stronger now," he said. "But strength alone isn't enough. You're not Muzan. You never will be. And you don't want to be like him"

Tamayo's eyes flashed with hatred. "I will never be like him," she said fiercely. "I will do whatever it takes to make sure I use this gift wisely. And I swear to you, here and now as promise, my everything is now yours"

Later, in the morning light, Adam found himself outside the headquarters, reflecting on everything that had transpired. His mission here was far from complete. There were demons to defeat, battles to fight, and choices to make.

Adam turned back toward the headquarters, his mind made up. The road ahead would be difficult, but he would walk it, one step at a time.
