Scene 29:-
Ext. San Francisco International Airport,
Time:- 6:25 A.M
All the Downtown High travellers will be waiting in the waiting room. Caleb yawns loudly, Henry says
"Bruh! Did you sleep yesterday? Don't forget! We've made a lot of plans for the flight?"
Caleb nods with a drowsy face.
Lily says, "I don't know about you guys, but I'm just gonna be listening to my 27-hour-long playlist the whole trip and I guess I'll try to get to know Richard as well"
Caleb looks at Emma who is talking and laughing with her group of friends.
James replies to Lily,
"I don't know why you are so into him Lily, he's too full of himself!"
Lily angrily says, "You don't know him!"
James remains silent.
Just then, the announcement for the flight from San Francisco to Kitty Hawk was announced requesting the passengers to board the flight.
All the students board the flight.
Scene 30:-
Int. United Airways A357,
All of them sit in their respective seats. Just when Caleb was about to sit next to Henry, One of Henry's friends comes and sits next to him.
Caleb sighs and finds another seat. The school headmaster asks Caleb to sit next to Emma. Caleb suddenly starts to feel nervous. He puts his bag in the storage space and sits next to Emma. Just when he sits, Emma greets him with a smile, "Hi!!"
Caleb greets her back, "Hi!"
Emma asks Caleb, "Are you excited for this trip??!"
Caleb replies, "Yeah... I am!"
Emma says, "So am I!! I have been waiting for this trip for the past 1 month dude! I've made many many MANY plans for this trip!"
She adds, "I was also hoping for a good travel partner!" She nudges Caleb with her hand.
Caleb laughs!
Emma smiles and asks, "So! What are your plans for this trip? You got a bucket list for this trip or something?"
Caleb replies, "Well yeah... I want to go for the dolphin show this Saturday (2 days from the present day). I also want to go Surfing at night! It would be so fun!!"
Emma replies, "Yesss!!! Even I love dolphin shows!"
She adds, "Surfing at night would be pretty cool too! It makes you look like a daredevil!"
She laughs!
Caleb gives her an awkward smile.
Emma says, "Sorry! I just got too excited. That wasn't even funny!"
Caleb laughs.
Caleb asks, "So, do you have a bucket list?"
Emma replies, "Oh yeah!! I have a huge list! Where do I even begin?!"
She starts to list out, "I want to go to the Doggoland, I want to go to the deep forests, I want to go to the Sea Scape Golf Course as well! I have some more, but I don't know who's gonna be taking me to all these places. And none of my friends are interested in going with me. I've never been to such places alone."
Caleb smiles,
Emma adds, "To be honest dude, I am not interested in some of the activities our school is going to be taking us. Like...pfft... I don't want to go to some memorial. I am not at all interested to dig up the past!"
Caleb smiles and says, "Well... I guess I'll join you wherever you wanna go instead of the memorial."
Emma shouts in excitement, "Really??!"
The people sitting beside them look at Emma awkwardly.
Emma closes her mouth and tries to whisper to Caleb. "Sorry! I'm just really excited!! Can you please please PLEASE come with me? That would be so fun!!"
Caleb says, "Yeah sure... That's what I just said."
Emma says in excitement, "Yay!! Thanks a lot!"
Caleb laughs and asks Emma, "So... Are we officially friends now?"
Emma replies, "Yeah dude! We're the travel duo!"
Caleb laughs.
And they continue to talk throughout the flight journey.
Scene 31:-
Ext. Kitty Hawk International Airport,
Time: 7 p.m
All the students exit the plane and get into the bus.
James and Henry ask Caleb to sit with them, but Caleb says, "Um... Bro, Emma's asking me to sit with her. So... Sorry."
James and Henry nod their heads in disappointment and leave. Caleb notices their disappointment but doesn't say a word.
Caleb and Emma chat the whole bus journey.
Scene 32:-
Int. Kitty Hawk Weiner Hotel,
All the students get down from the bus. The school headmaster guides all of them to their rooms. Caleb enters his room and falls on the bed.
Just when he gets a text from Emma,
"Caleb! Do you like campfires?"
Caleb replies, "Yeah... Why?"
Emma asks, "I'm sneaking out to the beach after dinner with some of my friends, you wanna join?"
Caleb thinks for a second and replies, "Um... But, I don't know any of your friends. Besides, you might get caught if you sneak out. Our teacher has said that we shouldn't go out after 10:30 P.M."
Emma replies, "It's fine! I'll introduce you to them! Also, we're just sneaking out for once!!"
Caleb texts, "I don't usually talk to new people."
Emma replies, "Dude! Seriously? You gotta make new friends at some point in your life right?"
She texts again, "Being with the same group of best friends is great, but you can learn a lot of new things if you talk to new people."
She texts again, "Anyway! If you don't wanna join, it's cool... Your call."
Caleb thinks for a while and replies,
"Okay... I'll join"
Emma texts, "Yay! That's great!! Meet you after dinner."
Caleb sighs and later goes to change his clothes.
Scene 33:-
Ext. Outside Weiner Hotel,
Time: 9:45 p.m
Caleb finishes his dinner and searches for Emma. He waits for 15 mins and texts her, "Emma, where are you?"
She doesn't respond.
At last after 40 mins, she replies, "I'm soo sorry Caleb! I didn't look at the time, I was talking to my friends the whole time!"
She texts again, "My friends dont wanna join.... I'll come through."
Caleb sighs with relief after reading the text.
After 2 mins, Emma runs out with her small backpack. She says, "Hey Caleb! Once again I'm really sorry!"
Caleb replies, "It's fine"
Emma asks, "Alright let's go! I wanna take great pictures!"
And they go to the beach.
Scene 34:-
Ext. Kitty Hawk Avalon Beach,
Time:- 10:25 P.m
Caleb and Emma sit down near a fire pit. Emma starts to take pictures of the Avalon pier, the moon, the waves and the firepit. Caleb looks at the stars and the moon. Then, Emma asks Caleb to take a selfie. He takes it and she says, "I'm gonna be posting this on Instagram today!!"
She starts to post the picture. Then, she says
"The caption is.... 'My new bestie'!"
Caleb smiles.
Then, they continue to chat for sometime.
After 1 hour, Caleb says, "It's late now! We've gotta go back to our rooms."
Emma says, "Yeah... Let's go! I had lots of fun!"
Just as she gets up to go back, she gets bit by a crab. She cries in pain, "Ow!! My foot! It hurts!"
Caleb tries to calm Emma down, he helps Emma get up and he makes her sit on a chair. He then says, "Hey don't you worry! I'll bring some water to flush the bitten area."
He then runs to his room to bring some bandage and some water.
Just as he returns, their teacher comes down to get some coffee from the espresso machine.
They remain silent and the teacher goes back to his room.
He then cleans the bitten area with water to prevent the infection. He then applies the bandage.
Caleb says, "You alright? I'm sure it must be painful, but it'll get better soon!"
Emma says, "Yeah... I hope so too. Thank you Caleb, That's very sweet of you!"
Caleb smiles and asks her, "Do you wanna go back to your room?"
Emma replies, "Yeah sure, I just need a little bit of help though."
Caleb says, "I gotcha!"
And Caleb helps Emma to get to her room.
He says, "G'night Emma! Be careful! Let me know if you need any help."
Emma smiles and says, "Thanks a lot! I'll let you know! G'night!!"
Then, Caleb returns to his room.
Scene 35:-
1Int. Weiner Hotel,
Time:- 8:45 A.m
Caleb wakes up and freshes up.
Later, he goes to James' room to check up on him.
He knocks at the door and Henry opens the door.
Caleb looks at James, Henry, Natalie and Lily together. He says, "Hey guys! Good morning!" He adds, "What are y'all doing? In the morning?"
Lily speaks out, "Well Caleb, we watched a movie yesterday night and slept together. We are now playing 'Monopoly'."
Caleb asks, "Oh... Why didn't you guys invite me? I didn't even know about that."
James replies, "It's because you never talked to us even once after coming here." He adds, "We tried to invite you... But, you were too busy with your 'New Friend'."
Caleb sighs.
Henry says, "In Fact! We tried to call you last night as well... But you were too busy helping someone get to their room."
Caleb closes his eyes and exhales. He then says,
"Guys, I ain't trying to ignore y'all and talk to her. I'm just glad there is some new friend in my life who is trying to understand and talk to me."
Natalie says, "Caleb! You shouldn't try to get a new friend by literally giving her full priority of yours! We are your friends as well! You gotta be with us as well."
Caleb thinks for a second and says, "You're right! I'm going in the wrong track. I'll be with y'all from now on! And I'm sorry for being a bad friend!"
Everyone smiles. Later, Natalie suggests, "Alright!! Now that our group is back together, shall we go to the carnival today?"
Caleb says, "I'll join y'all wherever y'all want me to come!"
Scene 36:-
Ext. Outside Weiner Hotel,
Time:- 5 P.M
After a few hours, Caleb and his friends pack everything to leave for the carnival, They pick a bus to go there. After boarding the bus, Caleb gets a text from Emma,
"Heyy… do you wanna go out to that Golf Course I was talking about? I'm going to take tickets now."
Caleb replies, "Um… Emma, I'm out with my friends now… I'll go with you tomorrow? I wanna spend some quality time with my friends."
Emma says, "Oh… actually it is really difficult to get the tickets for that golf course, today I called them and asked for a free slot, and they did have one."
She adds, "It's okay though… I guess I'll go by myself."
Caleb closes his eyes and sighs, he texts back, "I don't think it's right to go alone now. I'd suggest you take someone with you."
Emma replies, "Actually, none of them are interested in joining me… which is why I asked you. It's okay though, I guess I'll manage."
Caleb says, "Well… I'm sorry I can't join, let me know if you need any help or assistance, I'll try my best to guide you."
Emma says, "Sure, thanks."
Just as their conversation ends they reach the carnival place.
Scene 37:-
Ext. Outside Weiner Hotel,
Time:- 9:15 P.M
After having lots of fun at the carnival, Caleb and his friends return to the hotel. He texts Emma, "Hey… are you back? You're alright?"
Emma doesn't respond.
Caleb waves at his friends and goes back to his room.
He waits for an hour, she still doesn't reply. At last when checks out the window, he sees Emma trying to sneak back to her room.
Scene 38:-
Int. Weiner Hotel Lobby,
Time:- 11:45 P.M
Caleb runs down quickly, just as he's about to greet Emma, he watches his teacher scolding Emma.
His headmaster says, "Emma!! You are my responsibility in case something happens to you. And you tried to sneak behind my back all by yourself!"
Emma doesn't say a word, she just bows her head down and listens to the headmaster.
Just then, Caleb quickly interferes,
"Excuse me sir, um… Emma actually sneaked out because she wanted to surprise you for your birthday, which is in about 15 minutes! She wanted to get you a cake!"
The headmaster looks at Emma with surprise.
Just when Emma was about to tell the truth, Caleb quickly asks, "Emma!!! So you didn't find any open bakeries? For the cake??"
Emma replies while stuttering, "Uh… Yeah, um… unfortunately there were no open bakeries sir. I'm sorry for sneaking out without your permission. I didn't want to ruin your surprise."
The headmaster smiles and says, "Oh wow! You both are such good children… I'm sorry for shouting at you Emma, I'm so glad to have students like you."
Caleb smiles wickedly,
After a while the headmaster returns to his room. Caleb and Emma remain silent for a few seconds and they burst out laughing. After that, Emma says, "Thank you Caleb, you are the only one who stands by me when I'm in trouble."
Caleb smiles and says, "No need to thank. Anyway, get back to your room, we'll talk tomorrow, it's too late.
They both wave to each other and then, they return back to their rooms.
Scene 39:-
Int. Weiner Hotel,
Time:- 9:45 A.M
Caleb wakes up and texts his friends,
"What are our plans for today guys?"
Henry replies, "Nothing bro… I'm just gonna be sticking to our school group for today, So are Nat, Jam and Lil."
Caleb smiles and texts Emma afterwards,
"Hey! Good morning… Do you wanna do something fun today??"
Emma responds the very next minute,
"Hi! G'morning! Sure!!! Let's have some fun today!"
And then, they continue to go out to all their favorite places. Emma takes Caleb to the Doggoland, they visit an orphanage to cheer them up, they go to an Arcade Centre to play fun games.
