Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Absolute x Registration

Irumi walked out of the Cothor Group headquarters office alone, standing outside the building. He picked up the target information in his hand and glanced at it, but in the corner of his eye, he noticed a black car across the street.

"Tsubone and Gotoh."

In Irumi's eyes, as if ignoring the obstruction of the car window, he saw two figures emitting faint blue smoke wandering around their bodies. Irumi didn't pay attention to them and walked towards the bus stop, intending to go to the computer city to buy a laptop. It would be troublesome to search for information without one. Irumi waited at the bus stop for a while. Eventually, a bus stopped with a "click" sound, and several employees of the Cothor Group wearing suits got off from the back door. At the bus fare box, Irumi took out his wallet and shook out two coins, dropping them into the fare box with a "clang" sound.

Twenty minutes later, Irumi walked out of the computer city with a brand new laptop in his hands.

"Next, I should return to Heaven's Arena."

He needed to return to Heaven's Arena because his first battle on the 200th level was scheduled for today.

And why was it scheduled for today? That's because of what happened yesterday.

...

Twenty minutes later, Irumi returned to his exclusive room in Heaven's Arena.

The current time was 12:10, and he still had four hours left before his match started. During this time, he needed to make the most of his time to practice.

"I'm already familiar with the Ten. Next is Ren."

Ren was a technique where the aura generated in the body was released simultaneously through the aura nodes. Those who mastered this technique could radiate more aura than usual.

"In other words, I need to unleash all the aura in my body."

Irumi thought so. He wanted to unleash all the aura in his body to see the extent of his aura capacity. He clenched his fists and placed them at his waist, standing in the centre of the room, closing his eyes in contemplation.

"Now."

After an unknown amount of time had passed, Irumi suddenly opened his eyes and assumed a horse stance.

*Boom!*

A large amount of aura erupted from his aura nodes as if a dam had burst, gushing out.

"It's so hot."

Irumi felt as if his whole body was immersed in a hot spring, a hot spring that could make people exclaim in pain. Endless aura continuously surged out of his aura nodes. He clenched his fists and felt that he was invincible. It felt as if everything was within his grasp, an extraordinary and intoxicating feeling.

"So this is Ren?"

"My aura capacity is unexpectedly vast!"

If an ordinary person's aura capacity is 10, then Irumi's current aura capacity would be 5000.

Of course, this is just an analogy, as even ordinary people can increase their aura capacity through training. However, Irumi himself had an extraordinary aptitude and had undergone years of meditation and rigorous training, so his starting point was already very high.

"Now, it's time to prepare for the competition."

Irumi looked at the time. It was already 3:30 PM. He changed into a T-shirt and shorts and headed to the 205th floor.

...

13:55, one day ago.

Irumi finished his match on the 190th floor and headed to the 200th floor for registration.

*Tap, tap...*

Irumi walked through the corridor on the 200th floor, his crisp footsteps echoing in the hallway. The ceiling lights occasionally flickered, alternating between bright and dim.

"Hmm?"

Irumi arrived at the registration desk, and as he stood by the window, he suddenly turned his head to look down the corridor. A tall figure stood amidst the flickering lights, disappearing when the lights dimmed.

"Falksey?"

Irumi had a vague suspicion in his mind. That distinct high, sweeping hairstyle reminded him of Falksey, whom he saw on the screen on the first day. Without dwelling on it further, Irumi took out his ticket and handed it to the registration attendant inside the window. After confirming the ticket, the staff handed him a document.

"Mr Irumi, welcome to the 200th floor."

"Please register the required information on this document."

"By the way, would you like to apply for the competition immediately?"

Irumi ignored the attendant's question, but she didn't get discouraged and continued to explain the rules of the 200th floor.

"On this floor, the competition follows a declaration-based combat system."

"Each person has 90 days to prepare for the battles. As long as the participants declare their desired date within the competition period, they can participate. Of course, it's also fine if a participant looks forward to fighting every day during the period. On the contrary, even if someone doesn't fight every day during the period, it's not a problem. Participating in a competition once grants you another 90 days of preparation time."

"However, if a participant doesn't take part in any competition during the period, they will be immediately eliminated. Previously registered records will be completely erased, so please keep this in mind."

Irumi lowered his head and filled in the information on the document. As he heard the attendant's question, he remembered the figure he had seen earlier and smiled.

"On what day did Falksey compete?"

"Ah, Falksey?"

The attendant was momentarily taken aback by Irumi's question. She looked up, pondered for a moment, and seemed to recall something.

"Are you referring to the competitor Falksey Fisher?"

"If it's him, you can check his competition records and dates on the official website of the Heaven's Arena. Of course, I can also tell you directly."

The attendant said as she sat back at the computer and checked Falksey's next competition date.

"Let's see, Falksey Fisher's next match is..."

"July 14, 1980, which is tomorrow."

"I want to apply for tomorrow's competition."

Just as the attendant finished speaking, Irumi handed in the completed document with a smile on his face.

"Are you sure?"

"Typically, new competitors observe for a while after entering the 200th floor before participating."

Seeing that he was still a young boy, the attendant couldn't help but express some concern.

"I'm sure."

Irumi affirmed decisively. He was eager to test the strength of the person called Falksey.

With only one of his four Nen abilities remaining, he would absorb the experience and enhance his combat skills through battles.

"I understand."

Seeing his determined expression, the attendant handed him the registration form, allowing Irumi to fill in the details.

"You just need to arrive at the combat arena on the 205th floor at 4 PM tomorrow to have your match with Falksey Fisher."

The attendant took back the completed registration form from Irumi and noted his scheduled time on the computer. With Falksey already registered for tomorrow, it naturally meant that the competition between Irumi and Falksey was inevitable.
