Nanny Donne respectfully replied, "Madam, you are the patriarch's wife, and you have the authority to make decisions for the Mamet family both inside and out. Upon hearing this, both Nanny Doreen and Fiona Reiser's faces looked as if they had swallowed flies.
Xaviera said with a smile, "Then Nanny Doreen should go find the steward to get her salary. When Miss Reiser leaves, you can follow her back to the Reiser family. If Miss Reiser isn't willing to accept you, then I have to doubt that she was just trying to incite discord."
