Yang Lingyun suddenly reached out, his fingers brushing against Xia Lihua's lips with an unexpected force, wiping away a smear of cream.
The abruptness of his gesture caught her completely off guard, leaving her momentarily stunned.
It felt as though he was trying to crush her lips like fragile flower petals beneath his touch, and a rush of warmth spread across her cheeks
"Never think of another man when you're with me… never," Yang Lingyun said, his voice low and gravelly.
Xia Lihua blinked in disbelief. "But I—" She had only posed a simple question, with no deeper implications. Yet, Yang Lingyun's reaction twisted her innocent words into something that made her feel guilty, as if she had committed an unforgivable crime.
"No buts," he interrupted sharply, cutting her off. He had no interest in hearing her explanations or justifications. "Gu Sheng will show you to your room."
Xia Lihua nodded silently.
