Chapter 14 - Silent and Activation

Elswhere

...

With the sudden invasion of the Greeks, the Pharaoh sent one boy to infiltrate the opposing side. A single mission in mind: infiltrate the enemy's forces and find out their greatest weakness.

"Gramps, you sure I have to go and not anyone else?" Poison asked.

"Yes poison, this is the third time I've told you. The outcome of this war relies on your ability to infiltrate the Greeks." The Pharaoh responded firmly.

"Yeah, I know just so many responsibilities."

"Good now go. And don't mess this up."

...

Poison began his invasion. As he approached the Greek lands, he observed the lush, grassy terrain contrasted by its advanced infrastructure. Off in the distance he noticed a line of soldiers preparing for the upcoming battle. Nearby, a lone soldier stood guard at the entrance of a tower.

Swiftly and silently, Poison crept up behind the enemy soldier and released a pheromone, causing the enemy to pass out.

"Night night." Poison whispered.

He repeated the same maneuver to the other five supporting towers. After he cleared the vicinity of enemy's, he walked closer and closer until he could vividly see and depict the city.

It was massive, larger than anything he's seen in his life. Eventually arriving towards the center of the city, he found the location the Pharaoh believed the Basileus resided. He leapt from rooftop to rooftop, finally landing on a tall building. Sitting at the edge, he let his legs dangle over the side.

...

"You alright Emma?"

Magnolia asked as Emma staggered, reeling from an attack by an unknown figure. This mysterious enigma had ambushed them the moment they reached the location of the arrow. Magnolia motioned to Kibo to sneak up behind the unknown figure, however the figure quickly sensed Kibo's presence and immediately attacked with a punch towards the gut. The speed combined with the force of the attack was enough to knock Kibo out

"You pitiful creatures, I'm honestly sorry for how weak you three are." The figure taunted.

"Emma, use it and cover me."

Emma nodded as Magnolia advanced towards the huntress.

"You might've beat my partner, but he was a weakling who barely had any control over his contract." The Huntress snarled.

Drawing a silver arrow on her equally silver bow, the Huntress strained to pull the string, the noise indicating the immense strength required. Magnolia walked calmly forward, which only served to enrage her.

"Cocky little shit, in the name of my Goddess, I'll end your life, Egypt scum!"

Magnolia continued walking, not letting the insult nor the threat faze him.

"Fine! One arrow will destroy you weakling."

The huntress fired the arrow, sliver energy trailing behind it. However Magnolia continued to walk unfazed, the arrow directly in front.

"Dodge if you'd like, arrogance is your downfall."

The arrow impacted with Magnolia, creating a small sized explosion. The huntress turned her back, a smug look on her face.

Step, step, step.

She heard boots, crunch after crunch, stepping on the scorched ground. Magnolia walked out of the smoke, not a scratch on him.

"What- how did you?" The huntress was confused, her aim was spot on, nothing could escape her eyes.

Magnolia, seeing the confusion on the huntress face, spoke without any humor or mocking in his voice.

"The Heavens."

...

"Finally some action." Poison exclaimed as he saw a troop of soldiers lining up outside of a hut.

The soldiers still preparing their weaponry. Poison began to dash from rooftop to rooftop heading in their direction. Suddenly as he was only a few buildings away, all the soldiers suddenly vanished into thin air.

"Neat trick." Poison remarked. He jumped down to the spot where he last saw them and began to investigate the area.

Searching everywhere, he noticed a line stretching from the ground into the air. He quickly looked outside and saw that that line was a beacon of blue light. Jumping right into it, he noticed that he was in a swamp.

Thinking quickly, he manipulated the plants around him hiding his presence from the unknown. Creating a blade out of poison, he treaded throughout the swamp until he noticed a camp site, then a pillar on the perimeter.

"The pillar of fire and cloud. Shit, they are closer than the old man thought."

Poison began retreating back towards the beacon, aiming to report back to the Pharaoh. As he navigated throughout the swamp, he noticed men weaponized with iron swords and spears, donning shields and corselets of leather that had metal scales sewn onto them. At the sight, he began traveling a different path, still leading him towards the beacon, though allowing him to avoid conflict.

"Dammit that metal will counteract my toxin. Wait a minute I still have that…"

He stopped for a second creating a small orb of toxin before continuing his route. He found another group of men in front of him, and climbing onto a tree, he noticed more and more groups of men surrounding him as if they knew he was here.

"Impossible." Poison muttered to himself.

Poison landed to the ground and met with an army of these men, all blocking his exit paths. A man among them walked out of the group and towards Poison as he shifted into a fighting stance.

"You're one of them aren't you? Didn't know Egypt trained them so young." The soldier spoke.

"So they do, who are you?" Poison calmly answered back.

"Who I am doesn't matter the real question is what can I do."

"Like I have time for that."

Poison threw the orb of toxin into the air. The soldiers looking up into the air confused, but before they have a chance to look back…

"BANE!"

Poison said as he admitted tiny streams of web like poison into each and every one of the soldiers. They begun to feel a burn inside of their body, every organ, blood vessel and atom within the body limiting the effect of adhesion, making every single molecule become intact. Adding chloroplasts to the body, it caused an extreme flux of oxygen and bodily fluids.

The final act in this attack was the body's reaction to this… It began enlarging different parts of the body, arms, legs, head and torso. The figures begin to explode one by one as Poison stayed within the middle of the chaos, loving the action of each molecule disputing its last chemical reaction.

He left the scene and found the beacon, jumping through the light back into the Greek city once again. Climbing back to the rooftops, he noticed the Greeks traveling past the ocean separating Greece from Egypt. He traveled as fast as he possibly could without saving no time for breaks.

...

"You're back early… Too early what is wrong?" The Pharaoh asked his agent.

"Jerusalem is- Jerusalem is invading by the pillar of fire and cloud." Poison answered.

The Pharaoh looked at the boy before speaking. "Alright, Poison go rest…"

He vanishes as Poison faints to the ground, and he appears in the city of A Hundred Gates, directly in front of the statue of Ra. He grabs a pot and puts black sand in it, then puts it back on the ground before saying.

"I need your attention Apophis…"

A snake comes out from behind the statue.

"I smell divinity within you mortal. What is it you desire?" A deep snarky yet very husky toned voice says as he slithers around the Pharaoh circling him.

"I have a proposal which has what you desire the most."

"You have the essence of Ra? I am intrigued boy."

The once small snake turns into a giant ferocious python, as its aura shakes the area miles and miles away.

"Yes I do… However I need you to vanquish the surrounding nations like you should have done before."

"You humans all want something in return always, but I'll budge I haven't done anything destructive in a long time…"

"I am well aware."

"How do you know such things human?"

The Pharaoh pulls his shirt down revealing something on the left side of his chest.

"I like this one." Apophis says, smiling as he laughs uncontrollably. .
