Saffron PoV
I woke up and reached my hand out to stroke Rose's curls. She was fast asleep, her arms wrapped around my waist. Her face looked so peaceful.
I still wondered what had bothered her. Hopefully, it was just some overthinking on her part. Although, sometimes that felt harder to deal with than an actual problem.
Rose twitched a big as she began to stir.
I watched her try to wake up. She looked like our daughter whenever she was still sleepy but trying to force herself awake. Her eyes fluttered open, and she blinked a few times before focusing on me.
"Good morning," I whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
She smiled groggily. "Morning, Saffron. Did you sleep well?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I did. You?"
She yawned and stretched, her movements slow and languid. "Last night was really nice."
I pulled her closer, feeling the warmth of her body against mine. "It was. I'm glad we could spend some quality time together as a family."
