Rose PoV
After a bit more splash time, we returned Anis to her crib. She snuggled her bunny and raven plushies, smiling softly.
"I think she's glad her parents are safe," Dahlia whispered, glancing at Saffron.
My husband turned his head away, his guilt not entirely gone. He then turned back to look at our daughter. A slight smile crossed his handsome face. "Yeah."
I reached out, wrapping my arm around his waist.
"She knows we're here for her," I said softly. "And that's what matters most."
He nodded, his gaze still fixed on our sleeping daughter. "She brings so much joy," he said quietly, almost to himself. "Even when things get tough."
I leaned closer, resting my head on his shoulder. "You know," I began, my voice gentle, "after everything today, maybe we should have a nice dinner. Is there anything you'd like?"
He turned to me, his expression tender. "You should rest, Rose. I'll take care of dinner tonight. You've done more than enough. I don't want you fainting."
