Norton Young said it was a win-win situation.
"I didn't harm anyone, nor did I cause anyone any loss," he repeatedly stressed. "I haven't harmed anyone!"
"But you took advantage of me!" Purple Summers said in a low voice.
"How can this be considered taking advantage?" Norton Young became flustered, earnestly explaining. "I was indeed wronged, wasn't I? I didn't rape her, and you defending me is reasonable, right? How can that be considered taking advantage? This isn't taking advantage, this… this is helping."
He didn't understand why Purple Summers's complexion looked so awful. He said again, "You can defend those who have committed crimes, so why is it taking advantage when it comes to defending me? Why can't you help me?"
To Purple Summers, Norton's words were more grating with each utterance. She felt that something was wrong—maybe she shouldn't have let him into her car, much less ask him these questions!
This is absurd.
This is absurd!
