With just five minutes left until the end of the workday, Purple Summers couldn't wait any longer. Her face displayed both joy and apology as she said to her colleagues, "Something came up at home, can I leave early?"
Naturally, her boss didn't make it difficult for her and let her go immediately.
Upon leaving the Prosecutor's Office and getting into her car, Purple Summers saw the hunched-over figure again. The old man's silvery white hair was particularly striking in the sunlight, and instead of the old cardboard box, he now held a photograph.
Purple Summers thought it must be a picture of that dog.
This thought skimmed through her mind, gone in the blink of an eye, replaced by everything related to Atra Blanc.
It had been such a long time since they had seen each other, and she couldn't wait to meet Atra Blanc, to see if she was doing well, to see if she still remembered her.
