Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 Darcus Dan

Five days later, Dan wrote to me, and we decided to meet on a weekend to exchange.

I told about it to Vesta, with whom I had recently started to communicate quite often on a variety of topics.

He also asked me about many things in this world. Surprisingly, he showed interest not out of curiosity, but because there were no natural enemies of his in this habitat.

It was certainly strange, though when I heard about his life where he was constantly being bullied by flying Gorgonoids attacking him with sound waves, I could even understand him in a way.

"I'm finally going to have allies? Great, let's go, right now!"

- Couldn't you play with others before?"

"Before? You think a cat and a dog can play with each other much?"

"But the rules say they can.

"Well, that's how they tolerate each other."

I exhaled. Okay. Off we went.

Dan was the only one in the park. Deciding not to stretch this out, I got straight to the point.

"Hey, did you bring it?"

"Uh-huh."

He pulled out some cards and Bakugans from a small pouch on his belt.

"Let's trade!" he still had the same happy smile on his face.

I noted that his bag, which used to be full of Pyrus' Bakugans, was now completely empty, and there were 2 black and purple Bakugans flaunting there.

"Dan Darkus' Dan, then?" said I, pulling out the bakugans and 2 cards.

"Hehe!"

We quickly exchanged. I looked and saw that there was no cheating on the cards, and the reward... well, I'll look at it at home, why be picky.

I was curious after all....

"So you're not even going to brag about your other Bakugans?"

"А? Ah... right! Now, now," my suggestion seemed to please him a lot. "Here, look."

He showed the Bakugans in front of me, placing them on a card and revealing them.

"Gorgonoid and Grim Reaper, i see."

"Cool, huh?"

"Yeah, good luck."

"You too, I'll definitely be in the top 100 now."

After that, I tried to walk home as fast as possible.

So, the loot: 2 closed cards and 5 open cards, as well as 3 bakugans.

First the bakugans. Ventus Mantris, Ventus Bee, Ventus Raven.

Open cards: 3 gate cards, 2 ability cards.

Gate cards: Recharge (doubles the tens power of the bakugan), Energy Fusion (transfers 100g from the opponent's bakugan), Right of Choice (the player who revealed the card decides whether the battle continues or not).

No, what the heck is this mockery? The first one has little effect on the field, the second one is good, but the third one... do I have to talk my enemy to death until he surrenders?

Well, it's completely unplayable. It's hard to even think of a use situation other than taunting the enemy... Oh... I get it....

Next up were 2 ability cards that were a little better: "Blow the Enemy Off the Field", which moves any Bakugan other than the one used to go wherever I want, and "Shadow Power" for Raven, which lowers the enemy Bakugan's power by 50g and also nullifies the gate card.

Now it was the lottery again.

Entering another space, I activated the cards.

The gate card, Ring of Fire, adds 80g to the bakugans of Pyrus. And to her Saurus.

Ability card, "Poison Fang" - transfers 50g from the opponent; if the opponent's Bakugan defeats Rattlesnake, it loses 10g each round until it loses all 100g/while the battle is going on. And the bakugan is Sabterra's Rattlesnake.

"Well, I guess my luck ran out."

At that, I walked out of that space.

"Vesta, what do you think?"

I showed him everything I'd gotten.

He shook his head perplexed.

"What, you don't like it?" I smiled.

"I don't know, you're my master and you haven't even taken it into battle... how am I going to tell you how good these cards are?"

"Right...okay, we'll figure something out."

The next day, I didn't go to school, but went to the park to look for someone to fight. Of course, it wasn't particularly difficult, considering that, like, almost every kid was into it.

Why didn't I go to school? Well, they were supposed to have a something, someone, but physical fitness contest today instead of classes.

Well, that's passing, not with this body.

I soon found someone stunted, wearing a green t-shirt, red hair cap on his head, and protruding front teeth.

He had a Bakugan in his hand and appeared to have similar thoughts in his head.

I faced him with a glare.

"Hey! Wanna play a game of bakugan?" - I suggested.

"Hmm... you're a wimp."

A vein swelled on my forehead. Why are they all so arrogant, huh?

"Can you prove it?" I asked him.

"Ha!" he pulled out a card.

I duplicated his action.

"Bakugan, open the field of play!"

"Bakugan, open the field of play!"

The world spun around us, 6 elements swirled around us, transporting us to another space.

"Prepare to lose to me, Chaos Master Akira! Gate card, on the field!"

I didn't even bother to respond to that.

"Gate card, on the field!"

He threw a Bakugan towards his gate card.

"Me first! Bakugan to battle, Chaos Saurus on the field."

A white and yellow enemy appeared, looking like a demon or styracosaurus, certainly gigantic in height, with a rhinoceros horn and four more, two each at the ears and forehead.

The question is, should I accept the invitation or throw it on my card?

I threw in a card for the Submission gate.

As far as cards go, I brought my Recharge, Energy Fusion, and Right of Choice. There wasn't much of a choice, though. As for the abilities, it was Blow the enemy off the field and shadow power for Raven.

As I looked earlier, Blow enemy off the field can be used twice in a battle, so that's just 3.

Now the next thing... Chaos Saurus is 290g, basically meat, but... gate card....

"Vesta, what do you think? - I decided to ask him.

"Let the Bee go."

"Because she doesn't have an ability on her?"

"Yeah..." he nodded.

"Hey, how long can we wait?!" shouted Akira.

"How about... let's... not."

I hesitated to accept his invitation. I remember Ventus had one deadly move with 3 Bakugans... it was about time I bluffed.

Smiling evilly, I threw Bee on my card. In the event, 450g of Bee would be added to 450g of Bee with another 50g of boost, and 500g... well, there's not much that can break through something like that.

A relatively small green-orange colored bee monster appeared in the green glow.

"Huh?" my opponent suspiciously began to look at my face.

Seeing this, I'm still trying to keep a smile on my face. Honestly speaking, without powerful gate cards, I don't stand much of a chance if the enemy has powerful opportunities to strengthen, but it's a matter of time.

All I have to do is smash him into the wall.....

"I'll make you play my gate cards, Saurus is too good at power boosting..."

So, it's his turn again.

"Gate card, to the field! Bakugan, into battle!" he threw it towards his empty card. "Chaos Juggernaut, on the field!"

Oh, I've seen this guy before, 320g.

"Gate Card, on the field!" - is a Fusion of energies.

Do we bluff on and on or attack the Bakugan?

Of course we bluff!

"Vesta, you're up! Bakugan into battle, Ventus Sentipoid, onto the field!"

A huge monster that looked like a green scolopendra appeared, greatly, greatly increased in size.

Here was the true appearance of my friend....

"I'm finally going to stretch!"

Incidentally, the enemy can't hear his words because Vesta purposely doesn't convey her thoughts to him.

"Uh hey, you're kidding me! Are you gonna fight today or not!" shouted the little guy furiously.

Well, judging by the droplets of sweat appearing on his forehead, it seems he knows something after all and I guess he believed it.

"Come on, play!" said I, smiling broadly.

"B-bastard! I'll get you!!!"

I never heard him there me though, as the next moment a Bakugan flew towards my Centipoid.

"Gate card, onto the field! Bakugan into battle, Gryphon onto the field! Into battle!"

A certain lion with a snake-like tail appeared in the light. Powerful paws and wings... like a bat? Sharp claws and gigantic size. It looks like the perfect killing machine.

The only question is, why a gryphon? It's more like a chimera... well, a gryphon is a gryphon. 320g, i will roast it.

There was a menacing and majestic roar.

"Why are you roaring here? I'm about to let your guts out!" - Vesta said, but still turned back to me.

He obviously realized that he was weaker, but it didn't diminish his battle intent.

"Bakubattle!" shouted Akira.
