Left turn, flip, wall run, halt, side dodge!
Bian turned, weaved and dodged as many acid balls as he could.
Unfortunately, he couldn't dodge them all.
Bronze Solum Mirror: [100/100] --> [83/100] --> [47/100] --> [21/100]
The Solum Mirror expended the souls he had collected at an alarming rate to recover from the highly corrosive acid.
Several splashes even landed on the crystal tunic, producing white smoke as it burned Bian who was beneath.
The cracks covering the Crystal Tunic were too small for the ribbon snake to slip into, but a liquid such as the acid seeped into them and began dissolving his Jadebody.
'The damage is still manageable. I would need to be submerged in the acid for at least an hour to be completely dissolved.'
Bian was satisfied with the defense of his Jadebody, but the same couldn't be said for Bao'er. He had the Solum Mirror protect her from even the little drops.
Back in the shelter, all the ordinary creatures and weak Primitive creatures were dead. There were fewer than eighty creatures left, but their casualty had ceased once the ribbon snake returned.
It flew zigzag, leaving a bright red streak as it pierced the head of a dozen zombies in a second.
Then it spewed out different colourful gasses which poisoned hundreds of zombies. It didn't kill them, but greatly diminished their strength.
Coupled with the ferocious solid pillar wielded by the Tree-Armed Ape, the mutant and stronger primitive-tier creatures managed to avoid casualties.
For now...
But Bian couldn't afford to wait. The Solum Mirror was about to be destroyed and he couldn't attack the spitters which were hundreds of meters above his head.
"Almost at the walls!" As he continued running, he saw the walls appear in his field of view.
If he didn't leave the city now, he would surely perish when it was filled by the invading zombies.
He had avoided the city gates for a reason. All the zombies outside had converged over there to enter the city. If he could scale the wall on this side, there would be little to no zombies around.
Only sacred-tier zombies could break through the structure, and there weren't enough of those around, otherwise the entire shelter would be wiped out.
Bronze Solum Mirror [6/100]
"Shit!"
Bian let out a curse when he saw the Mirror would soon lose all the accumulated souls.
He activated Terraslip and sunk into the ground alongside the mirror. If he uncalled it, he would gain beast souls, but he needed the Mirror to absorb those souls to recover.
If it was destroyed, not only would he lose a valuable asset, but he would also have to deal with the backlash from breaking a geno core which would in turn greatly diminish his chances of survival.
*SIZZLE!!!*
The acid balls landed on the ground, melting through it at a visible pace, but Bian who had dived deeply into the earth was nowhere to be seen.
One of the eight spitters stopped spitting and flew downwards.
Bang!
It landed with loud thud, demolishing a three-story building beside it.
The creature with wet black fur, serrated teeth and beady white eyes, dissolved the ground beneath it just by standing there.
Its wet fur wasn't caused by water or normal perspiration, but this creature constantly secreted an acidic sweat.
Both of the creatures palm melted into the ground and it used its wings to push itself deeper, soon disappearing from sight.
The other seven spitters landed at different locations and did the same thing. Each melting and diving into the ground, until the location was left completely desolate~ on the surface.
Bian could observe the eight spitters, but they couldn't see him. They each moved wildly, searching for him at a speed that was more or less equal to his.
Bian deactivated the body and soul pillar, returning back to his normal state.
The stub on his feet, where his toe was missing, began blood coagulation. Where a normal person would have bled out, an extremely thick blood clot formed around his injury.
The cracks and scratch marks around his body filled themselves with blood, and Bian felt overwhelmed with a sense of weakness.
Maintaining the inner pillars at this stage was extremely costly, but with the Emperical Aura to boot, then Bian was about ready to collapse.
But he couldn't rest yet!
Before he could not attack the spitters because they remained sky high, but there was nowhere to fly to now.
He summoned the Scornful Bane, which didn't have time to recover from its previous trauma.
The bone white katana was a berserk mutant class weapon. In fact, it was the only suitable weapon Bian had at the moment.
He held it tightly and moved close to a group of three spitters that were far from the main group.
The spitters were big, at least three times his size. The paths they left were riddled with acid, making it impossible for him to enter their tunnels.
Bian stalked a lone spitter and thrusted the Scornful Bane into the eye of the beast.
The zombie creature didn't know any better as the broken white point of the katana, appeared through the wall and pierced it's eye in an instant.
Moving quietly, Bian circled to the second spitter and took it out in a similar fashion.
The broken point of the Scornful Bane phased through the earth above its head and stabbed deeply through its eyes and into the skull. Then the blade retreated like it was never there.
SIZZLE!
"Figured."
Bian let out a sigh when he saw the blade releasing some smoke. Even the organs of the spitters were acidic, posing a threat to any weapon that attacked them.
If the Scornful Bane was an ordinary mutant Beast Soul and not a berserk one, then he feared it would have already crumbled away.
Bian would love nothing more than to leave and flee from here, but once he stepped on the ground, they would all sense the vibrations and follow after him.
If they cause even more of a commotion, then there was a high chance that the creatures after him could increase or something even worse would join them.
The shelter was still faring quite well, two Sacred-blood creatures backed by a royal spirit and several mutant level creatures and spirits.
They successfully kept the horde at bay, killing the zombies that flooded their shelter by the hundreds.
Just like how majority of the beasts there were ordinary creatures, the same held true for the zombies.
Close to seventy percent of all the zombies were of the ordinary rank while a good twenty percent were primitive ranked.
Forced to come in a straight line, and without geno cores, the zombies posed no threat against the sacred-blood creature and their elites.
Bian who could observe everything saw an abomination walking to the shelter.
An eight meter tall body of pure muscles, no flesh in sight. Bone grew out of its head like two horns, which flowed down to its feet and curved upwards to its abdomen.
Its face had an unchanging ferocious expression, as if it was wearing a mask.
Bian knew this creature wasn't normal, because it crushed another zombie which he recognised as a mutant in a single step.
Shua!
The Scornful Bane pierced the head of the fourth spitter.
'Once that monster can reach the shelter, then there will surely be mass casualties. Even if it is stopped by the Ape, then the stronger zombies will be able to flood the shelter.'
Knowing that the end of Ash Princess was near, Bian felt renewed with strength. He had killed half the spitters, but the other half now gathered around each other not giving him a chance at assassination.
When they approached, Bian made sure to retreat without alerting them. Their little game of mice and cat went on for a while until they discovered the body of the other mutant creatures.
Then in manners that couldn't be described with words, the foul beasts began eating their fallen kind.
'Should I attack them while they're distracted?'
Bian doused the thought as soon as it lit up. Even if he killed one, then what about the other three. They would rip him to shreds before he could retreat.
Instead of provoking the beasts, he quietly retreated from their position and Terrasliped towards the city gates.
As Bian moved to the gates, the hulking overhorned savage reached the center of the horde.
Unlike the other zombies, the savage didn't look for a hole leading to the shelter.
Instead, it kept walking until it was directly above the underground shelter.
The creature clasped it's hands together and released a sledgehammer on the solid ground beneath.
Bang!
Thousands of zombies were pulverised in an instant as a shockwave spread through the shelter like a tsunami.
Bang! Bang!! BANG!!!
Each hit that landed caused an earthquake which devastated all the buildings in the shelter.
Even Bian had to pause due to the constant vibrations all around.
The beast was relentless in its barrage of attacks, until finally-
BANGGG!!!
A visible ripple exploded outwards, turning the advanced lands and high-rise buildings to nothing but debris.
A huge hole leading directly to the shelter was formed and the Savage fell right through on top of the Tree-Armed Ape.
