The seventy-two blessed lands are among the most distinguished Daoist jade mines in the Central Plains. There are also some extraordinary mines located on the immortal mountains beyond the seas of Penglai and within the territories of the Divine Teachings in the Western Regions. In any case, the Dao jade produced from these lands are at least ninety percent pure, and this constitutes the very foundation of Xuanmen's esteemed position in the cultivation world today.
However, as they are naturally formed, impurities are inevitable, and the quality of the raw materials is a matter of luck. Even the finest jade may contain one or two percent of pollutants, and if it's close to metals, stones, water, or fire, it is bound to be tainted with the less desirable spiritual energies of the five elements.
