"You are going to be a queen once your husband becomes the king," the King of Azu said to Meka.
They were seated at the corridor, overlooking the guards at the palace, clashing swords against each other. Meka had been lost in her thoughts when the king passed by and spotted her.
She half-smiled at the king's words, wondering if she was even excited to be a queen. Maybe Jelani thought that was what she wanted, but all Meka needed was love from her husband, and Jelani was slowly becoming distant, turning into a totally different person.
He hardly ever saw her in a day, sometimes for weeks, claiming he was preparing for the coronation. Husband indeed.
"I'm looking forward to it," Meka replied to the king, who gave a slight nod.
"I hope you are not being suffocated by the four walls of the palace. If you ever want to step out, I could recommend some good places you could visit," the king offered, and Meka flashed him the warmest smile.
