Evelyn Crawford carefully walked over and sat down opposite him, murmuring, "You... you know I've been using drugs?"
Jasper Bollock did not speak but just nodded his head and grunted.
Evelyn's hands twisted together nervously.
Just as Amanda Jenkins had said, you really can't hide anything forever.
She truly hadn't expected Jasper to find out so quickly.
Evelyn hung her head, not daring to look at Jasper.
She really couldn't guess what he was thinking.
Was it because he was too angry, too furious, that he appeared so calm instead?
Or did he think that she, so unworthy, didn't even deserve his anger?
"How long do you plan to sit here lost in your thoughts? This isn't like you."
Jasper furrowed his brow.
All morning he had seen her, head bowed, her eyes rolling around.
Evelyn sighed quietly to herself.
Was this his way of driving her away?
