Jasper Bollock stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her.
Evelyn Crawford blinked with eyes full of anticipation, waiting for his reply.
Yet, he delayed speaking, just looking at her; the expression in his eyes was enigmatic.
Evelyn tilted her head, "Hey? Am I so beautiful that you have forgotten to answer?"
Jasper's expression flickered, and a nonchalant smile edged his lips.
He patted her head, "You're overthinking."
With that, he strode forward.
"What am I overthinking?"
Evelyn couldn't understand his reply and hastened her pace to catch up with him, looking at his handsome profile, she pressed on, "What do you mean by overthinking? Is it about me saying that you're so in love with me that you can't extricate yourself, or was it when I said I'm beautiful?"
"You're overthinking both." Jasper continued at his brisk pace, already stepping into the elevator.
Evelyn's steps faltered, she watched dejectedly as he entered the elevator.
