Chapter Ten
He stepped forward and embraced her.
Sofia Hamilton felt his familiar scent and snuggled even closer into him, stretching out her arms to tightly hook around his neck. It was the first time she had actively sought out such closeness. It was as if she had found safety or a support to lean on, which moved her to the brink of tears. Tears began to emerge from the corners of her eyes, dampening his shirt.
Those scorching tears were intensely hot.
It was as though they sought to sear through his skin, iron his blood, and etch an indelible mark.
Ryan Gregory hastened his steps, taking her away, thinking they could settle the score later on!
He brought her to the car as quickly as possible and let her sit inside, but she refused to let go, her hands continually holding on tight to his neck, whispering with a threadbare breath, "Don't go..."
The fragrance emanating from her body was the ultimate test to his senses.
And yet, he didn't want to just... here and now.
