Chapter 418 - Soft

"At the same time, she was also known as the 'Scarlet Witch'..."

"So, it's her..."

In Zane's previous life, he didn't know much about the origins of the Scarlet Witch's power. All he knew was that she was incredibly beautiful.

In fact, back on the plane to Egypt, he had already encountered her brother, 'Quicksilver.'

Later, Zane had been puzzled about why he hadn't seen the Scarlet Witch inside the pyramid, even imagining some unpleasant possibilities.

It turned out that she had transformed into an energy sphere and hidden here.

In other words, by the time Zane and the others arrived at the pyramid—or even earlier, when they were captured by Venom—the Scarlet Witch had used her energy to form a protective shield around herself for self-preservation.

Zane thought for a moment and deduced what might have happened to the Scarlet Witch. Then, recalling Roma's words, he asked curiously:

"If what you're saying is true, shouldn't only the Scarlet Witch from the primary universe have gained the power of chaos magic?"

"That's why I said she's a unique being."

"After the Scarlet Witch from the primary universe gained the ability to connect with the realm of chaos, that ability instantly synchronized across all of her 'parallel selves' in the Omniverse."

"In other words, from that moment on, every Wanda Maximoff in every dimension and universe—despite differing awakening times or experiences—unfailingly possessed the potential to connect with the chaotic forces beyond."

After Roma finished speaking, she quickly took out a magical pen and began sketching the energy sphere in her diary.

"I see," Zane replied, having asked all the questions weighing on his mind. He realized it was just like the Phoenix Force.

One couldn't determine the existence of the Phoenix Force based on when Jean Grey—or he himself, Zane Abbes—acquired its power.

By the same logic, one couldn't infer the timeline of that explosion solely from the Scarlet Witch's timeline.

It was highly likely that, across the long flow of time, only Wanda Django Maximoff had aligned with the opportunity to harness the power of chaos magic.

At that moment, as if responding to Zane and the others' discussion, the glowing energy sphere before them suddenly erupted in a dazzling burst of light.

Then, it hovered above everyone's heads.

Crack!

The outer shell of the energy sphere shattered like an eggshell.

Immediately, a woman floated out, her eyes closed, her figure exceptionally curvaceous.

The group watched as the scarlet robe on her body flashed momentarily before transforming into a white sweatshirt.

"Hmm?"

"It seems that the Scarlet Witch of this ultimate universe has only just awakened her chaos magic powers," Roma said while scribbling quickly with her pen. She continued speaking:

"The scarlet robe that momentarily appeared on her earlier was the manifestation of her chaotic power spilling over. It's also the origin of the name 'Scarlet Witch.'"

"But as you all saw, the robe only appeared for an instant and was clearly not under her control," Roma added.

"This indicates that her chaos magic is unstable."

"So, I believe she has only recently awakened and hasn't yet mastered this power."

At that moment, the woman's eyes fluttered slightly before she suddenly lost control and fell from the air.

Zane, who was the closest, saw her panicked expression. Without thinking, he caught her just before she hit the ground.

As his arms wrapped around her, they brushed against her soft curves.

The sensation, surprisingly, left Zane—usually calm and composed—momentarily dazed. Even the Phoenix Force hidden within him seemed faintly stirred.

This puzzled Zane deeply.

Meanwhile, the Scarlet Witch's face turned crimson with embarrassment. She quickly pushed herself out of Zane's arms and retreated to the side.

She bowed slightly, looking shy and timid as she said, "Thank you, and thank you all for saving me."

She assumed it was their arrival that had rescued her from Venom's clutches.

After speaking, her body swayed, either from exhaustion or the overwhelming fear and tension she had endured in less than a day.

Then, her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed backward.

Whoosh!

At that moment, a strong gust of wind blew past.

This time, Bastis instinctively shielded the iron-straight bangs on her forehead, gritting her teeth as she watched the wind whisk the Scarlet Witch away.

Squeak, squeak, squeak...

Suddenly, a series of familiar squeaks echoed, ones Rocket and Groot instantly recognized.

The squirrel girl from earlier reappeared, leading a group of small squirrels.

She glanced toward the direction where the wind disappeared and muttered unhappily, "What a rude guy..."

"You know him?" Bastis, eyes flashing with desperation, approached the squirrel girl as if clutching at the last straw.

"Not exactly. He only told me his name was 'Quicksilver.'"

"Like you, I only met him after arriving here," she explained while gesturing for the Squirrel on the ground to crawl into her pocket. After the lead Squirrel left, the rest of the group scattered.

The squirrel girl's expression darkened as she continued, "We're all here searching for our loved ones, but that guy didn't even know the way. He ended up tagging along with my army of Squirrels, and we stumbled upon this place together."

"It seems he found his sister. But as for me..."

At this point, she glanced around at the desolate and dilapidated surroundings. She listened closely to the chatter of the squirrel perched on her collar, reporting its findings.

Her eyes grew heavier with despair.

Still, she remembered that the woman Quicksilver had carried away had been standing with this group earlier.
