Chapter 52 - 52- Litheria's guild master ( 2 )

Looking at the man who cut the palm of his hand just like he did, Arthur could only think one thing.

' As expected, if you're in a fantasy setting and you want to be a real man, you gotta do it seriously ! '

Though the difference between him and the guild master, was that Arthur could have really ended in pain if Stella wasn't present, while the dwarf who hasn't even presented himself in front of everyone, would be absolutely fine even if he didn't get healed.

At most, a bandage to not smear blood everywhere and a few days to heal up, that's probably what it would take for the guild master to heal completely, or at least use his hand like nothing happened.

Stella, hurrying herself to heal him after he ordered her to, he tried to remember the setting of the priest in the game in the meantime.

' .. Wouldn't they do a pledge to one of the prospects of life to gain that power ? '

Seeing the hand of the rough man healing as he was thinking, she didn't even summon her gears this time, and the healing was taking longer than expected, but the dwarf seemed to be totally immersed in his hand and the feeling of being healed.

' The pledge.. I wonder which one she took. '

There was a total of seven pledges to do, according to the seven virtues of life, and if one didn't want to lose their power, they were forced to abide by it.

And the stronger the restriction one put on themself, the stronger the receiving power would be.

For exemple, there was a difference in the kind of Charity one would have, between just loving every beings for what they were, and doing that along with helping them when one could or couldn't meant two different things.

By the way, Charity was one of the hardest to follow, because while you could dislike an action made by someone, you could never dislike that someone and it's existence directly, so not many priests had it from the start.

" .. Arthur, I'm done. "

The healing, less faster than his for obvious reasons, came to an end, and with the guild master still looking at his hand with a serious and lightly surprised expression, he was pulled out from his thinking process by the priest he summoned.

" Thank you Stella. "

Although he felt like patting her head, since there were so many people, he thought about doing later as a way to thank her for doing things he didn't tell her to in advance.

" It's nothing, it's my duty to heal others. "

Hearing those words, he started to think if she meant it as in it was part of her pledge, or her role as a priest, but in any way, she was still right with it and the question of the virtue she choose to follow would come later.

" So, what do you think ? Is it enough to get her registered now ? "

" ... "

Asking the man with the most authority here, Arthur just waited patiently as he was probably thinking about a lot of things, and while he couldn't know what was going on in his mind, from the way he looked at his hand, he had an idea about it.

" ... That power.. Is it a special ability ? No matter how hard I think, it certainly isn't natural, and I've never heard of something like that in the two hundred years of mine. "

' Two hundred years ? Then either I'm in a distant future where the priests disappeared, a past where they have yet to come forward, or a completly different world than the one where the characters were summoned from.. '

But then, the question could be asked, if it wasn't the world from where the two girls by his side were from, then he really wanted to go and see it for himself, though it was impossible.

" That's nothing of the sort, you shouldn't compare such a power to a thing like an innate ability, and while I can't talk about it, I can just say that it was obtained after gathering certain conditions. "

" Kid.. It seems like you know a lot of interesting things, I really want to open that skull of yours and see what's inside, but meh, that's not how it works anyways, so what kind of rank are you asking for the girl ? "

" Let's play by the rules and give her a stone rank, she has yet to gather merit and her combat strength alone wouldn't scratch the heel of a seasoned adventurer. "

Ignoring his remark about him wanting to inspect his brain, it was just the kind of nonsense a dwarf would speak without meaning it, and if you were to get angry by it, then you would be considered as a smaller person than them for not being able to even take a few words.

" Fine by me, but are you sure that's what you want ? Even if you're telling the truth, I could still give her a silver rank right away and it wouldn't be too complicated to do. "

" It's really alright, and to make up for it, can I ask for something else instead ? "

The dwarf, looking at him, didn't even made a face like ' Ah, I knew it ! ' , because even if he knew that he would ask something, he couldn't know or even predict what he would say next.

" Just speak what's on your mind. "

" It's nothing much, I just want the ability to introduce other talents to the guild without having to go through the process of finding an instructor to teach them, I'll take care of that myself. "

" ..... "

Litheria's guild master, hearing his request, then fell silent.

His thoughts, unknown to everyone around, be it adventurers or the receptionists taking care of them usually, were finally expressed as an answer to his probably excessive demand.

" ... The best I can do is to use my authority as a guild master to allow you to do that in this city, but everywhere else, I have no power over it, and also, if I or even the instructors can't inspect them beforehand, they'll start with the most basic stone rank as well, would that be alright with you ? "

" It's alright. "

" Okay, Ann, can you go and take a stone badge for the girl ? I'll carve her name real quick so we can be over with it.. As for you, I'll let the word spread to the receptionists, so be assured that they won't stop you from registering someone in the future. "

Nodding to his words, it seemed that it was finally coming to an end, and while he just wanted to rest right now as he had drained his mental energy just from dealing with something in a way he has never done it before, it was, in the end, easily resolved and he even got something out of it.

' ... Isn't there some kind of heal for mental fatigue ? '

A futile thought traversed his mind, as if trying to find hope when it never existed for him, the only salvation being to hit the bed, but it was something he couldn't do as of now.

" Guild master, here, the stone badge you asked for. "

" Can you spell her name ? "

" .. Sure. "

Taking the object that was handed by the small human girl, but which was still taller than him, he used his pocket knife to carve through the stone, while Arthur was forced to spell the name of the priest instead of having her directly doing it, he showed everyone an incredible display of strength and dexterity, though the knife that could cut through the stone and came out without a dent was probably more impressive.

" Alright, it's done, she just have to put a drop of her blood on top of the crystal and it should be good, anything else ? "

" Nothing else, we will take our leave then. "

The matter of putting a drop of a blood was simple and easily done, especially as she could just heal herself right after, so there was no hesitation on her actions, though she still used a needle to do it.

And with that, the commotion in the adventurer's guild, enough to shock everyone who assisted it, ended up leaving a 'mess' that the guild master had to clean.

" What are you all spacing out for ! You three, get back to work, and I'll get someone to clean the blood on the floor.. "

With a sigh, the guild master left the hall on the first floor and headed back upstairs, where work still waited for him, as the guild he was managing, slowly regained it's function after some time and efforts from both adventurers and the ladies behind the counter.
