When I first woke up, I had become a goblin.
I don't remember the details, I don't know my name or my occupation.
But I was supposed to be living in a modern city at earth as a human being.
At least I don't remember living in a cave like this.
To repeat, anyway, I woke up in a cave as a goblin.
Anyway, I head towards the light to leave the cave.
On the way, I passed a few goblins but they didn't even call out to me.
When I went outside, there was a vast forest.
For some reason, I felt extremely horny.
Even the sight of a deer's ass makes me want to violate it.
I guess this is the inherited nature of Goblins.
Come to think of it, it was very unusual that I didn't see a single female in the cave much less a goblin one.
Then, Should I make some moves towards "it"?.
Well, forget about it. Goblins are too weak to be compared to a human teen and I doubt I will be alived after bring kicked by those feets of the beast.
"Hey Konark, you bastard..you run, boss fight."
While I busy daydreaming, a goblin from the insides of the cave called out to me.
His high pitched voice was really unpleasant even if I had become a goblin. One could imagine how uncomfortable it might be for sentinel races such as humans and elves.
Apparently, he was trying to explain rules regarding some sort of annual contest. Where the adults including myself has to fight goblin leader.
It was what we might call show of one's strength and it's needed to re-classifying the hierarchy within the pack. The strong one would be given favourable shares in the food and women ( if they find any ) and if someone were to the defeat the "Boss", he can also replace him.
I haven't seen the boss yet.
At the moment, all goblins, including myself, are ugly little demons, all green and about 1 meter tall, and I have no idea how different the boss is from us.
However, I can't accept that I, a former human, would serve under a goblin.
Physical abilities cannot be improved instantly, so the only way to win is to use your wits.
"Boss, fight, later"
With that, I returned the Goblin to the cave.
It seems I still have some time before my turn, so I decided to think of a way to defeat the Boss.
.....
"Boss, Konarad, fight"
By the time the goblin from earlier came calling for me again, I was holding a 1.5m wooden spear in my hand.
This was the maximum equipment I could equip myself with in the short time I had.
I won't be able to win by force, so it's better not to get too close.
Soon we were taken to a particularly large room in the cave, where many goblins were sitting in a circle, and in the middle stood a larger goblin, about 1.2 meters tall.
That seems to be the boss.
"You, boss, wait, arrogant bastard!"
The boss said this and laughed vulgarly, not seeming to have any intention of losing his dignity.
"FIGHT, coming."
It was my first time speaking, but I couldn't get words out clearly and ended up speaking in broken , just like the other goblins.
Feeling a bit pathetic about that, I continued stabbing the boss with my spear.
I don't try to swing a weapon that is longer than me.
Because there's no way it can be handled well.
Just thrust to stop them from closing the distance, and keep thrusting until they give up.
"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!!"
Finally the boss gave up.
This time, all I could do to make the spear was find the material and shape it, so the tip is not sharp.
Therefore it has no lethal power, but of course it hurts if you are stabbed repeatedly.
This time it's a battle to decide the boss, so there's no need to kill them so it's not a problem, but the same wouldn't be the case against external enemies.
And so I became the boss of the pack.
The surrounding goblins all stood up and started squealing.
Normally I would have wanted to scream out in annoyance at the ear-splitting chorus, but for some reason it gave me goosebumps and I let out a particularly loud, "Gyaaaahh!"
...
Then, during the night, I wake up.
I still hadn't returned to human form, but my height had grown to about 1.3 meters.
It's not a level of rapid growth.
Of course, this was the first time I'd ever experienced something growing 30cm overnight.
Perhaps this is the result of me becoming the boss of the pack.
When I gathered the group in the morning, about 20 goblins gathered.
As expected, they were all males.
Everyone except the former boss was about 1 meter tall, and the only thing they were carrying was a club about 50 cm long.
I don't know what other creatures exist in this world, but goblins are certainly not the strongest.
If we continue like this, we don't know when we'll be attacked and wiped out.
I'll find vines for each member of the pack to strap their clubs to their backs.
I then taught them how to make sharp spears about one meter long and ordered everyone to have one.
It took a week for everyone to get their weapons ready.
The reason it took us a week to do something I could do in half a day was because the goblins were lazy.
And surprisingly, it was my former boss who completed all of the orders in one day.
I gave him the name Hon, short for honest and ordered him to scold the other goblins to work faster.
At this time, looking at the sub, I came up with a hypothesis.
The only one who wasn't lazy was the former boss.
The fact that I suddenly grew up after using ingenuity to win was not completely unrelated.
Isn't it true that goblins are weak simply because they are lazy?
In other words, goblins have the potential to grow if they put in the effort, and it's highly likely that this will be reflected in their abilities quickly.
I left the management of the herd to my sub and spent the remaining six days devoted to strength training.
.....
After a week had passed, 20 goblins had acquired spears and were led by a 1.5m muscular goblin.
Yes, my hypothesis was correct.
After just six days of strength training, I grew more taller and developed muscle at a rate incomparable to that of a human.
I may no longer be a goblin, but a higher species.
With the spear in hand, my hunting became more efficient and I was able to eat meat almost every day.
I'll teach my pack how to make bows and arrows soon, and encourage my "Hon" to do some strength training.
As I was thinking that, one of the three goblins that had been out hunting tumbled into the cave as if taking refuge.
I've taught my pack to fight at a distance, so they shouldn't lose to the animals in the forest...
"A human has come, a friend has been defeated!"
He shouts at me with a frightened look on his face.
