"How about Oddish? It is a Grass and Poison type, you don't have that type in your Pokémon Team, right? They too can use Poison Powder, Stun Spore and Sleep Powder, not to mention they have a good resistance against the Water, Electric, Fighting and Fairy type moves, and an even better defense against the Grass type moves that have disadvantages against both of its Grass and Poison typing. Though they do still have weakness for Fire and Flying type moves just like a Bug Pokémon, too." I begin with my recommendation about another Pokémon that can play with status moves as well as a Butterfree does.
"Hmmm.... Oddish, huh? Well, since they are very good against its fellow Grass type I think it would be a great help for my Water type Froakie. Not to mention they are easy to find almost everywhere, too. As long as I search for them in the night when they are going out from their hiding place, I think I can found one of them soon." Homura began to contemplating about her choice in her mind.
And just like that, we spend our time traveling the woods, battling the wild Pokémons that we have encountered while having some more discussions about our Pokémon team building and combat strategy.
I must say, as a shinobi girl, Homura have a fair amount of experience in terms of combat.
If it is not for both of her Pokémon having a type disadvantage against the two Pokémons I choose to battle her, maybe I will be the one in the losing end.
Who knows right? Beside I also hold back quite a lot, too.
I don't use any of my Pokemon's Move Combinations in our battle before and still keep them as my hidden trump cards against her in the future.
By the way, aside from Oddish, I also talk about other Pokémons like a fellow Grass and Poison Type Bulbasaur that can also learn the two powder moves but not the spore one. The only downside is that the iconic starter Pokémon from Kanto is an extremely rare Pokémon that is so difficult to find in the wild.
"How about Shroomish, then? It is only a Grass Pokémon at first but once it is evolved to a Breloom, it will become a Grass and Fighting type Pokémon. However, it can only learned Stun Spore and Poison Powder while it can't learn the Sleep Powder. Though, once you have trained them until they are grown up and matured enough, they can learn a very reliable status move Spore that can put their foes to sleep with an even greater accuracy than the powder moves." I take out my third recommendation with another one of my favourite status abuser from the third generation of the Pokémon series.
"Huh, but Jovanna, I think I have read it somewhere before that a Shroomish can only learn Spore if you don't let it evolve to become a Breloom until it have grown very big?" Suddenly Kotonoha asked me a question that have been bugging her mind as she remembered one of the book that she have read before while listening on my ramblings.
That's true, though, in the latest generation of the game, Pokemon Scarlet and/or Violet, a Shroomish can only learned Spore once they have reached Level 40, and a Breloom can't learn Spore, meaning that you must let your Shroomish grow to that level in game before evolving to a Breloom if you want it to learn the reliable status move.
I don't know for sure about this wacky World of Pokémon, but just to be safe, let's assume that it is the case.
There is even something written about that in the book in this world.
Gotta asked Kotonoha about that book later for my research materials, and if Kotonoha have it, I would like to borrow hers.

"Oh, oh..... I have a bad feeling about this." I immediately speak out what I have in mind and told my Shion, Phinia and Zozo to get ready for whatever it is that is coming over to approach us.
"..... I think the same, too....." Kotonoha who is looking nervous also called her Pokémon to prepare for the worst.
"Me three." Different than the two of us, Homura calmy take out her Froakie and Nincada while looking out on where the direction the crying for help and the buzzing sounds is coming from.
Soon enough, we see a Mareep.... No, that's not right, what we see is a woolly creature with a human girl face, that creature is running frantically on her two short legs while also flailing her tiny arms as she is running.
As we are looking at her, she is also looking at us.
But instead of having a relieved expression like people who have found some help, she is instead panicking even more as she is shouting towards us, "Ruun! Ruuun Aawaaay!!!!"
Looking at the girls who is still running straight so fast that she can't even change her direction with how short her legs is, we soon see clearly what kind of things are chasing the woolly girl who have a pair of sapphire blue eyes, a pair of black striped yellow small horns on top of her head and a tail with the same colouration as her horn which have a spherical ball on its tip and it is swinging around furiously behind her as she is running so fast like a flash.
