The Blackblood Lord was standing in front of a window, hands behind his back, looking out into the dark forest.
His aura was calm, but there was something heavier about him now, like a mountain slowly preparing to settle. Perhaps he was making peace with his own mortality that suddenly came knocking on his door.
Aksai bowed at once. "Senior, thank you… for today. Especially with the Green Glory Lord."
Aksai could have avoided the impending calamity caused by the Green Glory Lord on his own. However, he knew he would have to pay a certain price for it.
It was always better when such matters were handled by a Core Formation Lord. Aksai was truly grateful, so he thanked the Blackblood Lord as soon as he could.
The Blackblood Lord turned around and let out a loud laugh, his voice echoing through the empty hall.
"Ah, don't thank me yet," he said with a grin. "You might come to regret being pulled into my mess."
