"I grew up in the land of rain, orphaned by shinobi from Konoha. I met Konan and Yahiko who shared a similar story and together we struggled to survive during the third great war. We distrusted shinobi deeply and so when we were found trying to steal food from one we expected to be killed. Instead the shinobi, Jiraiya sensei fed us and in time taught us ninjutsu and how to live as a shinobi. He left us however and came back to Konoha as he felt was his duty. Yahiko, Konan and I saw the pain that war brought and formed the Akatsuki as a peacekeeping group to try and end future conflicts." he said narrating his story while I listened seriously.-
"You were betrayed.... no not betrayal, you lost something precious to you." I said and he blinked in surprise but nodded.
"The Akatsuki were beginning to grow into a formidable force and was stopping many conflicts in the land of rain when Konoha chose to take it all away. Feeling his interests being harmed maybe Danzo Shimura convinced Hanzo to kill us. It was a bloodbath, Hanzo and his forces killed all of the others except Konan, Yahiko and myself as we were trained by Jiraiya sensei and thus too strong to fall so easily. In the end Yahiko sacrificed himself to protect Konan and I and I awakened the true power of these eyes as well as their cost." he said sternly.
"So you killed all those people, flattened and swept aside whole innocent lives and places for revenge!?" I demanded feeling my chakra boil with my rage.
"Not revenge, A plan was in place and Konoha was in the way. We needed the chakra of all nine tailed beasts and the Jinchuriki of Konoha was hidden away in a place we couldn't get him and needed to lure him out. My attack was for that purpose as well as to cripple the village so that it couldn't interfere with the plan. We miscalculated however." he said looking right at me with a regret filled expression "Your existence was outside of expectations and I've paid the cost of it." he said calmly.
My eyes widened though "You have no intention of restoring those lives at all!" I exclaimed with an angry hiss and he nodded calmly.
"It would cost me my life and only make Konoha a threat again to the plan." he said.
"Then your continued existence is worthless to me!" I yelled as I swung my hand and removed his head from his shoulders.
I rushed back to the ruins of Konoha and met up with my sensei and my mitosis clone that had survived the attack with a few dings here and there but that was all.
"What happened?" My sensei demanded as I landed next to her.
"I killed the one behind the attack and now I need to try and revive as many people as possible. I have no choice but to go all out to have a chance to get so many." I said seriously.
She nodded "Don't kill yourself but anything short of that I will accept." she said firmly and I nodded.
I clapped my hands together and drew in a vast amount of natural energy as I reentered saint mode.
"Saint art: Overturning hell!" I say as a wave of green energy flows from beneath my feet like a raging ocean and seemed to defy gravity as it flowed up the sides of the crater.
To the awe of all those watching bodies began to rise to the top of this strange green liquid energy like wood in a lake. This was merely the first step however as soon those watching saw the bodies injuries mend in record time regardless of how damaged they were. Finally the energy turned red like blood as I began to disseminate my lifeforce across this vast technique to revive as many as I could. About halfway through the total dead however I reached a critical point where if I went any further I'd die and had no choice but to drop the technique as well as my saint mode as my vision grew blurry and I started to collapse.-
My sensei hurriedly caught me "I-I'm sorry, I could only get half." I whispered before darkness and weakness forced my mind under.
(3RD PERSON POV)
In the ruined spot where Kenzo slew Nagato and left his corpse in a hurry space seemed to swirl and a man in the standard black robes of the Akatsuki and an orange swirled mask covering his face seemed to manifest from thin air.
"So you perished in the end at the hands of an unknown variable. At least the Rinnegan are intact, I will honor your sacrifice by completing the eye of the moon plan and bringing peace to this world." the man said as he took the corpse and vanished in a swirl of space.
Meanwhile back at the crater of Konoha Tsunade was ordering the surviving and ambulatory shinobi to rush all over the crater to bring to bodies of those still not breathing in hopes of reviving them before the three hour period was up. Even with the help of a dozen medical nin using the revival technique perfected and shared by Kenzo only half the remaining dead were able to be saved before time was up.-
One thousand seven hundred and thirteen was the final tally of those who perished in the attack and were unable to be revived. This was almost two thirds the number who died over a decade ago when the nine tails attacked which was a bit over three thousand casualties. No one was certain but there was suspicions that Kenzo prioritized shinobi as despite these deaths the fighting force of the village had only dropped by about five hundred shinobi in the end. No one could ask Kenzo himself however as he was unconscious after extremely over exerting himself.-
Rebuilding couldn't even begin yet as there was a massive hole where Kenzo struck that needed to be closed before it could be built over. There was no hunt for the culprit as Kenzo had already said he killed them and after this show of power no one doubted his word. This same power however left many with a conflicted set of feelings once word spread as it reminded many of the legends of Hashirama and Madara. Both were said to have the power to level entire villages as well leaving vast swathes of destruction behind them when they fought and Kenzo's strike while directed more precisely seemed just as powerful.
